Default Pros of having no HD

I've been reading everyone's topics about losing the HD and I have some ideas as to how this could be beneficial to Xbox Next if this were taken out of the system.

    1. Less money to purchase new system. Ditching the HD would lower the price of Xbox Next considerably since it's very expensive. You'd probably have to pay a lot for the memory units though. Hopefully they'll be cheap.

    2. Portable saves. Having your saves on a memory unit prevents you from losing your information if ever something should happen to your Xbox console.

    3. Portable custom soundtracks. If they do this they should make a portable device for listening to your songs, this would be sheer genius on Microsoft's part. Hopefully the memory cards will have a lot of memory on them so you can have lots of music without having to sacrifice game save storage. And hopefully you can take your stuff from the Xbox HD and transfer it over so you don't have to burn it all again.

    4. Portable download content. That's how they'll take care of that problem. It would be nice since you'd be able to take your downloadable content to a friend's house and stuff, along with your XBL account.

    5. Keep some internal space for game to use. That way games can still use some internal memory when needed.

    6. No HD means less money to make the console. Which means backwards compatibility wouldn't be completely out of the question. Use that extra money that yer saving from taking out the HD to let gamers play the original Xbox titles on Xbox Next.

    7. Anything on your HD should be able to be transfered to an Xbox Next memory unit. Pure and simple.

These are my ideas for Xbox Next and how they should go about doing their next console. Anyone who has their own ideas post em here!

    Yeah it's pretty big lol

Oh and if they decide to have external HD or some other means of saving Xbox information beside a memory unit, you should be able to transfer original Xbox data to those too! I ain't ripping 290 songs over again!

Yo if XboxNext doesn't have a HD doesn't that mean it cannot be backward compatable with the XBOX simply because some games need the HD. Such as Blinx for the time thing and Halo for the levels?

I think the HDD should still be there but it should be 30 gb and the games should use it for alot more than just saves and custom audio.

Saxon, half those things u just said u can already do. On the memory card, u can take data from Hd to a friends house, even downloadable content and xbl accounts.

I think MS should keep the HD. Look at sony even having now, trying to bundle it. It seems like its more worthwhile to have it then not. I think they do want to shrink the console, especially because of the japanese which i guess they should do.

I disagree and agree for different reasons. I dont kno what would be the advantage of not having besides that. What are they going to use instead again? some1 posted it b4.

Thoughts: E3 is over. Possibly the most underwhelming E3 in years. Bring back the surprises!!

Actually, the hardrive doesn't take up much space/weight.

But your saying that you would sacrafice all the wonders of the hardrive just so it can be a bit lighter? Oy...

    1. Oy...$20-15 is really worth loosing a hardrive!

    2. Xbox already has memory cards...

    3. Same thing here, cept this'll cost ya $40....

    4. Same thing as numbers 2 and 3...

    5. Yeah...how is that a perk exactly?

    6. Well, I'd agree with you here, if only MS wasn't saving only $15-20 per console...

    7. Ok..... How about we just keep the portable memory units that we already have and the hardrive?
