I used to play counterstrike lots and even played in tournaments at lans. I've seen people being accused of cheating and actually stood and watched the supposed cheater's screen. People are way too quick to call shenanigans in online games. And hacking a console game is even less likely than hacking a pc game. IMHO.

Also I don't really consider this thread as being personal attacks, unless people don't post their reasons and allow a fair representation.

'SuchAndSuch sucks' would be an attack.

SuchAndSuch sucks because he quit mid game' is also an attack, and is not a good reason (could be lag).

'I won't play against SuchAndSuch again because he quit a match that he was losing, and then messaged me saying how much I suck' isn't an attack, it's just talking about an experience and allowing people to form their opinions.

I'd prefer that if people are going to post about blacklisting people, they please restrict it to the third example type posts. Do not accuse people of cheating as well please, unless you personally experienced it, and have proof.

Guys, he's right. Without proof that these people are cheating, you ARE performing a personal attack against them.

How do you know that the game didn't just drop them? Can you prove that? I've had lots of times where we've been disconnected, and I would sure hate for someone to put my name on a list like this saying I'm cheating.

None of us will ever know if someone is cheating, at least in regards to the way you guys are calling it (the host dropping or disconnecting). Therre are TONS of posts on this board in regards to people having connection problems, and now you guys are making posts talking about people that might be having those exact connection problems as cheaters.

He's right, it really is a personal attack.

Its not personal attacks it keeps us from joining games with people who will end the game thereby being a waste of up a half hour. So no pretending to be a mod, if they wanted this forum closed they would have done it already.

I am NOT a cheater, and neither is ghost. I still don't know which game he was talking about in that thread, and I'd like to clear this matter up. Our ISP has lag issues sometimes, but it has NOTHING to do with intentionally disconnecting.

I've been playing online multiplayer games for about 15 years (started on MUDS) and 99% of the time someone disconnects or drops link it is because they are cheating and avoiding losing/dying. The other 1% is when they do happen to be playing in a thunderstorm and lose power in their house and it should only happen to one person, not an entire squad.

Sadly, most games do not compensate for this very well.

I have the perfect solution. This isn't a list of "cheaters". This is a list of people we have played that have known connectivity problems at convienent times that we would like others to know about. We would never presume to call them cheaters, as they might fall into the aforementioned 1%, but they obviously have some problem staying connected, which hinders our gameplay. As we would like to play as much as possible, connecting with these people can lead to interrupted gameplay, so should be avoided. There, does that sound PC enough for you, SouthernFairy?

BTW, I have actually played a few rounds with Whitedragon. Was kind of weird seeing him on the list. I actually had some very fun rounds with him. Stomped all over him, but never was DCed. I won't say that he has NEVER done it, as I don't know him. But I can say he has played against others and not done it.

Umm...no? One's a racially charged word used to degrade an entire group of people and the other was a guy who lived in the middle east, was probably not white, and really loved wine. I think those two things are very different.
