Default Compensation for PC/PS2 players hit by 065 billing error

Just throwing out some alternative ideas to the spread needle lottery as suggestions..

I think a better compensation would be to extend the rewards unlocked by mag (the synth & luck bonuses) for an extra week for all PC/PS2 players...

And for all those PC/PS2 players that were unable to sign on during by mag due to the billing error.. an item that was formerly only (i think) found on the 360 server as demo weekend rewards.. such as..
    • the nights room deco (or amy or knuckles)
    • the hand spear (or even hand spear s)
    • the real hand gun (or even real hand gun g)
    • or possibly something along those lines that is not on the 360 server (yet)
    • or even the bouquet board awarded from mag hit counter..

I would hope that everyone could agree that "Hand out an exclusive awesome item to random 'victims' " is a terrible idea. Then again, I had hoped that people would agree with "reward people for having more free time" was bad too and most apparently don't.

They won't do a one-week MAG extension for PS2/PC only because that would see the 450th to 500th 360 players get helplessly bumped off the leaderboard :P Plus the amount of time people have been affected isn't fixed - some have been for more than a week now. Tacking on a week at the end may go against their pre-planned schedules anyway. If someone was pitiful enough to take a week off work for MAG and got 065'd during that entire week, giving them a week of MAG at the end would see them need to go to work for that week and it wouldn't be as useful as if the 065 never happened. Plus a number of other situational pitfalls and subsequent complaints they'd want to avoid.

Most would contest that no other unique item would be to their interest, particularly if they were going for an SN/G. But if you were to give them a unique item, then non-victims will miss out! Unless that unique item then gets released, effectively cancelling the compensation altogether.

I wish I could end this post with a meaningful suggestion, but this problem started with the "reward the most free time" limiter system and with that as the foundation it was never going to be fair. I can only hope they've learned from this.

If you gave all the victims a SN/G then there'll be PS2/PC non-victims who finished 501st to 600th completely outraged since they will have deserved it more than most of the people who got it.

I really can't think of any fair way to resolve this. They seem pretty adamant about being dickish and not letting most of their players get one, so a simple "Make another one-time method for people to earn it" idea wouldn't even work.

All that said, of all the unfair suggestions there may be, handing them out at random has to be the worst one possible.

This is not what i suggested.

I suggested to extend the unlocked (synth/luck/grinding) rewards after the event by an extra week for all pc/ps2 players.. not the event itself.. and gib players that are/were affected by 065 error during mag an exclusive item other than the top prize for the event (spread needle)..

Ten weeks of bonuses is no better than one week of bonuses for players who know what they're doing. Those players would be insulted that they lost "their" SN/G for that and a room decoration that other people couldn't get. And those other people would be insulted that they couldn't get that room decoration.

So basically punishing the non-victims as well as the victims

So in other words, not contributing but getting the prizes anyway? I can understand unlocking the ruins and everything, but maybe hold a event for only PS2/PC people? Same event, let them compete for their stuff and earn their stuff too... maybe lower the bar as well.

But anything that effects the current event for 360 should be tossed out the window and burned for all I care. Things just don't work like that... Seperate Events of the Same Event seems the best idea for you guys.

What I am saying is, PS2/PC must work for their event prizes just like Xbox 360. But the event won't be linked like it is suppose to, be just like the other events out there...

Hold up, I just noticed something, scratch what I said. PS2/PC people have been playing... just that the event is already connected and wouldn't be fair if PS2/PC actually get SN/G competition twice to get theirs...

There's a difference between "not contributing" and being "unable to contribute"..

Not having (more) PC/PS2 players contribute to the kill count affects the 360, too.. but i didn't suggest 360 players get anything additional out of this..

I think you misread where i was suggesting 065 error players unable to play get something already exclusive to the 360 servers as compensation...

This was something I've been thinking on. Extending MAG isn't going to accomplish much, and the reasons have already been stated. Exclusive items, like the Spread Needle/G would lessen the efforts of all those who are competing on the boards (but please don't let that stop you from giving us those if that is your plan ). I like the idea of people getting the bouquet because its something that's not exclusive, it just takes some luck to get it. My solution is along similar lines. Since we're all denied the chance to get the weapon badges, perhaps some s:):):):)y PSO swag from Dr. Montegue would work. Since we can't actually run MAG and get the badges we can't get the swag, and as we do not know if we'll have a chance to get it all of us will miss out on it (which is the big reason I want to play, I wants me some PSO goodies). It may not be a spread needle, but I think it would be nice since I imagine a lot of us were also after the secondary goods.
    Life without thought is death.

Many people only worried about the Spread Needle with the 065 error. Dont forget all of this :

I personally agree with NO FEAR on the point that you don't really realize what we missed...

I missed one week of xp, mp, badges, drops, fun, i won't get a spread needle for sure, i know quite a lot of people went back on psu (really, first time in months we hit the 4stars, even 5 in a universe on pc/ps2...), they played the thing for one week now, and i think less and less players are going to play it now, because some are, for sure, starting to get bored of it (and maybe went playing GTA4 btw...)...

Really, this event gather imho all that is enjoyable in the game.

So being offered something like a room decoration, which is even not even related to what this event could have brought us, is non-sense for me.

And i agree on the point that adding an extra week isn't enjoyable for those who were unable to play; we'll still be one week behind the other players, who will have probably found items (during the mission, using badges and all...) so, you can add one week but that won't make us less poor compared to the other people.
