    Default copy protected gamesaves

i will copy and paste what i posted on the platinum games forums.

are a no go, thanks a lot sega! not only do you disappoint me by locking my bayonetta gamesave, i have no way to backup it up if my ps3 decided to die on me! hours of hard earned work will be down the drain because of your bad mistake! thanks a lot! i am hoping the copy protection will be removed in a update ASAP, if capcom can do it with resident evil 5 then so can you, it is not hard! all you had to do was lock it to our PSN IDs, not to the console itself.

if platinum games or sega do not release a patch to remove the copy protected gamesave then i will have no option but to trade it in! i will not put up with this copy protection rubbish!

question is why is SEGA giving its fans the finger and saying F*** You by refusing to do anything about this??

well i guess with the release if the install patch that shoots down any hope of SEGA unlocking the save files for backup. **** you SEGA i shall not buy another game from you.

After a month, nothing has changed! Well I appreciate that SEGA has released a patch for the install option, so it'll be better when I pick it up later... But I still won't get this game due to the stupid copy-lock.

I still have other games I can play with while waiting for SEGA to change this. C'mon SEGA you gotta help us on this... If the online stats are SOOO important to you guys (not to me), why not just lock the online stats and leave the single player game data unlock! (ala DMC4 style)

Bayonetta is a game that takes a lot of time and devotion, and there is no way I'll play it if there is a chance my data can go away at any moment.

There's no need to be rude, but I have to say I do wish Sega released a patch to lift the copy-protection. Capcom did it for Resident Evil 5

I agree with you, Coolweb, I wouldn't want to beat many difficulties and then have my PS3 die and lost all my progress. Surely, it must not take herculean efforts to make such a patch, right?

2 months gone, and still nothing.... What gives SEGA? Do you guys just not care about your fans 1 month after you released your game? Again, thank you for releasing the patch to allow us to install the data, but this is just one of the three major problems that this game had.

The other two are: locked save data and lower texture resolution. But we are focusing on the save data, and until now we are still stuck with locked save data. As I said previously I still have other games I can play while waiting, but if this continues on, especially with FF XIII and GoW III coming out, you can consider this game to be sold. I will also do my duty to inform anyone who are thinking of buying this game, about how a good game like this smeared due to the stupid copy-lock system.

Change it SEGA and make your fans happy and you'll be happy to not hear any complains from us about this matter any further.

It's been 3 months now and not much progress... I wanna know what's going on here... What is SEGA is so afraid about anyway?

The worst case that could happen is that there are some kids who got easy trophies. But it wouldn't affect SEGA whatsoever. Their leaderboard can stay intact (by locking the online profile only) and us gamers can enjoy backing up our save data without worries.

C'mon SEGA! Can you at least acknowledge this and give us a logical reason why you guys are doing this?

How long has it been now?
Maybe we should remind them some more about this. It looks as though my PS3 might be dying soon it's taking longer and longer to load data and save data progress. Not to mention the main menu seems to be jittery when I go to Home. I'm afraid I'll lose the 40+ hours I put into the game already as I go to college I don't have a lot of time to play as it is.

Ask them if they could create separate data for Leader Boards and single player. Have Leader Boards data locked to the PSN ACCNT, and the single player data unlocked so we can at least back that up.

Thank you! I was afraid I was the only one left fighting this 'battle'. But yea, it would be great if SEGA can just patch it to make it like DMC4 where the online leaderboard data is separate to the game data. That way even though we can't backup our leaderboard data, we can still at least keep our progress. And as Metis has stated, 40 hours is a long time. I'm sure other gamers also played longer.

Heck, even the futurepress people (publisher of Bayonetta official guide book) spent over 6000 hours... C'mon SEGA, what's so hard about it anyway? You guys are already under fire from a bad port of this game, alleviate yourself by helping us fan enjoy the game more. First by unlocking the save data so we can be assured that our progress are well kept from corruption, and not asking us to spend 5+ hours for some few meager files!

Well, here you have a recent victim by the locked savegame. Lost a savegame with about 3 million halos (no farming!), all alfheim portals completed and halfway through the hard difficulty with all crows (even the annoying one in the alfheim on hard)... and you guess: ALL LOST CAUSE OF YLOD... and the missing possibility to backup my saves (thank god I backupped everything else the day before, i.e. my 100hour+ RE5 save...)... it was really annoying to play all those alfheims again, well guess it made me a better player since I beat Ultime Climax by now , but really SEGA, this has to be fixed, CAPCOM unexpectly did it and you could as well. Thanks in advance!
