I don’t know about you guys but I’m a bit tired of the same old opinion based topics of “Sonic 06’ is great/sucks” or “Knuckles vs. Big Bird" crap. They are getting old :/

So, I decided to make this topic since I haven’t seen one like it in some time. Here it goes:

This character creation is loosely based on games like Dungeons & Dragons. This means that there is a basic set of rules on how you will create your character and a point based ability system. These are the rules/steps to follow:

1. Choose the name of your character
2. Alignment
a. Good/Neutral/Evil
3. Age and Gender
4. Race
a. There are different races and each one has different benefits.

i. Hedgehogs: +2 speed, +1 Dexterity, +1 Charisma
ii. Foxes: +2 Intelligence, +2 Wisdom
iii. Echidnas: +2 Strength, +1 Constitution, +1 Wisdom
iv. Bats: +2 Charisma, Flight skill
v. Felines: +2 Dexterity, +1 Speed, +1 Wisdom
a. Big Felines: +2 Strength, Climb Skill
vi. Chameleons: +1 Dexterity, +1 Speed, Invisibility skill
vii. Rabbits: +2 Charisma, +1 Dexterity, +1 Intelligence
viii. Crocodiles: +2 Strength, Swim skill
ix. Armadillos: +2 Constitution, +1 Strength, +1 Charisma
x. Avians: +1 Dexterity, +1 Speed, Flight skill
xi. Robots: +4 points to spend on any of the abilities
xii. Platypus: +1 Strength, +1 Dexterity, Swim skill
xiii. Salamanders: +3 Dexterity, +1 Intelligence
xiv. Dinosaurs: +2 Strength, +2 Speed
xv. Bears: +1 Strength, +1 Constitution, Concentration skill
xvi. Humans: +2 Intelligence, +1 Wisdom, +1 Charisma
xvii. Dragons: +1 Strength, +1 Speed, +1 Wisdom, +1 Constitution
xviii. Squirrels: +2 Speed, +2 Dexterity
xix. Monkeys: +3 Dexterity, +1 Strength

b. Skin/Fur Color
c. Eye color

5. Classes
a. There are also different classes and each one has its own benefits. These are:
i. Freedom Fighter: The runners. Freedom fighters are dedicated to the preservation of free will. They are not frontline fighters, preferring hit and run tactics rather than a full frontal assault. +1 Speed, +1 Dexterity
ii.Inventor: These creative individuals dedicate their lives to either the improvement of society or its destruction. Inventors are not great warriors; they prefer their inventions to do the fighting while they stay in the back issuing instructions. They have the ability to create robots that fight for them with robotics. -1 strength, +1 intelligence, Engineering skill, Robotics
iii.Guardian: These lone individuals dedicate their existence to the protection of powerful ancient relics. Guardians are powerful and determined frontline warriors that use their strength to destroy their enemies quickly. They also have the ability to cancel out chaos powers and its effects with chaos repel. +1 Strength, -1 Intelligence, Sense skill, Chaos repel
iv.Thief: Sneaky individuals that lurk in the shadows waiting for the right moment to strike. Thieves are not strong fighters but have the ability to incapacitate their enemies and hide from sight. They are also very charismatic individuals that are able to get away from situations with the use of diplomacy. -1 Strength, +1 Charisma, Ambush skill, Hide skill
v.Chaos Fighter: Warriors that have been able to channel the power of the chaos emeralds for offensive or defensive purposes. Since chaos fighters are not physically strong they prefer to attack from afar, using their powers to kill their enemy quickly or make their allies stronger. They also have the ability to stop time for a short time with the chaos control ability. -1 Constitution, +1 Wisdom, Chaos Control
vi.Element Warrior: While chaos fighters use the power of the chaos emeralds for combat, element warriors use the energy of nature. Element warriors can specialize in one natural element such as fire, water, earth and ice. Fire and ice are offensive, while earth and water are defensive. +1 Wisdom, +1 Constitution
vii.Telekinetic: Soldiers of the mind. Telekinetics are able to use the power of their minds to lift objects and use them as weapons. They also have the ability to attack the mind of their opponents for a short time. +2 Wisdom

6. Abilities
a. Every character starts with a base ability score of 10. Also, everyone has a limit of 14 points to add to their base scores. Every time you add an additional point to an ability, you have to subtract 1 from the base spending points. Racial and class abilities are also added/subtracted to this base score.

a. Ability to understand technology and create devices

i.Points to spend: 14
7.Skills
a. Skills are special abilities that characters can use. These are dependent on the basic ability scores. For example: If you have only a 10 Wisdom score you cannot have sense. Keep in mind that some races and classes already include these skills and that there are some race exclusive skills like flight and invisibility, and class exclusive like Robotics, Chaos control, Chaos repel and Ambush.
i. The skills are as follows:
1. Light Speed dash (18 Speed) – charge an enemy from long distances
2. Swim (14 Strength)
3. Sense (15 Wisdom) – ability to sense energy sources
4. Hide (15 Dexterity) – ability to stay out of sight
5. Dig (18 Strength) – ability to attack from the underground
6. Diplomacy (18 Charisma)
7. Climb (15 Strength)
8. Bluff (12 Charisma)
9. Disable device (16 Intelligence)
10. Intimidate (15 Charisma)
11. Escape artist (14 Dexterity)
12. Heal (17 Wisdom)
13. Disengage (17 speed) – ability to retreat from melee range without taking damage
14. Concentration (15 constitution) – ability to reduce damage taken
15. Engeneering (14 Intelligence)
8.Back-story
a. Make one if you feel so inclined. If so, include mannerisms, visual appearance and other stuff that makes your character unique.

This is not for any kind of game or competition, it’s just for fun. If you think that I should include another race or class, make the suggestion and I shall take it into account. I don’t know if this is well balanced but I’ll see that when guys start making your characters. You are also welcome to create more than one character.

Also, sorry for the long post. Just trying to be as specific as possible.

She's definitely element, but I don't see hers up there (she wields the power of electricity and a bit of wind)

Depends on which universe you look at her in....

SEGA - Former Chaotix member, Electrokinetic, knows a few wind spells, and rumored to have a possible fling with Knuckles, but when she had an adventure of Rabbit Island, he mocked her story, and so she left to live and protect said island. She currently resides there.

ARCHIE/LAME FANFICTION FROM TEN YEARS AGO - Born and lived in a plain on the Floating Island (notice how I don't call it "Angel Island") Mother was an enchantress, so she inherited a few spells from her, such as electricity and wind. Her robotisized uncle kidnapped her parents, so her older sister Daisy had to take care of her and her younger sister Rose, up until she was 11 when she got lost and had to take care of herself up until she was 15 and met Knuckles. She joined the Chaotix, eventually falling in love with Knuckles. She later finds her sisters again, and much later, rescues her parents.

Interesting, I see you had a bit of a problem with the skills part so maybe I can explain it better. You should also add the class and racial extra points your abilities score. Basing on what you wrote, your character’s abilities should be as follows:

Str: 12
Spd: 12
Dex: 12 + 1 Rabbit extra ability point
Con: 12 + 1 Class extra ability point
!nt: 11 + 1 Rabbit extra ability point
Wis: 13 + 1 Class ability score
Cha: 12 + 2 Rabbit ability score

Based on this you should be able to know what skills your character has:
Bluff (12 Charisma)
You only get this one since your character is pretty much well rounded and doesn’t excel at any specific ability this also means that it is not really weak at anything either. Depending on your ability scores you get different skills. So, based on your ability score different skills become available. For example, to get the Dig skill, you need 18 strength.

Soon the archaeologist named him Rock, from where he was found. The two became good friends until the archaeologist became so fascinated with the Power Ruby that he tried to steal it from Rock. Rock became so angry about this, he killed the archaeologist and left to wander alone. Ashamed of what he'd done, Rock destroyed the cave in which he lived, ending a part of his life. Now Rock travels the world, alone, looking for a way to bring the archaeologist back to life and right the wrong he has done.

8. Back-story
The proud Battle Kukku Empire is today known among Mobians for its failed invasion of Cocoa Island, during which the Flickies successfully defended their territory through the help of a certain young fox named Miles “Tails” Prower. (see Tails Adventure).

It was after this devastating defeat that Rook rose to prominence among the Battle Kukku. Appearing at the peace talks for the Treaty of Cocoa Island, Minister Rook helped negotiate the release of the Grand Battle Kukku 15th as well as his son and heir Battle Kukku 16th, in exchange for the Battle Kukku relinquishing the islands of their overseas empire (leaving them with only their resource-bereft home island, Kukku Monga).

In the tumultuous times after this event, Minister Rook struggled to keep the political structure of the Battle Kukku intact, even as whispers of revolution spread through the nation. Rook helped coordinate the counter-revolutionary spy network, working to reveal and eliminate resistant groups of socialists, republicans, and anti-flicky fascists.

Simultaneously, Rook joined the ranks of the increasingly popular “Flock Together” movement, a group that believed the Battle Kukku’s return to greatness rested in cooperation with all avian races—and that the cause of their trouble had come from the “Beasts” (featherless creatures, especially mammals) and the “Bats” (flying interlopers who disrupted the brotherhood between the bird races—such as Tails Prower, of course). This is, of course, in reference to the Aesopian fable of "The Birds, the Beasts, and the Bat".

As the heir apparent Battle Kukku 16th also began to adopt this position, Rook was assigned as chief ambassador to Flicky Island to improve relations.

He was on Flicky Island during Robotnik’s invasion (see Sonic 3-D Blast), helping to coordinate the Flicky Resistance. And, while the Flickies cheered Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles for liberating them from Robotnik, Rook vociferously reminded them that the cause of the invasion was another mammal (Robotnik), and that Flicky Island had been swallowed up in a conflict between two groups of “Beasts”.

Minister Rook believes he is a lawful good individual. He struggles to turn the Battle Kukku Empire away from militaristic expansion (while maintaining considerable defensive armed forces, of course) and toward diplomatic unity. Already, most of the former territories of the Battle Kukku Empire have voted to return their allegiance to the Battle Kukku, to build a pan-bird society. Rook hopes that eventually the Flickies will decide to make this decision as well. But it is unlikely, considering their ever-growing trust of Sonic and his friends.

Hpmm I really like the idea of this, and I'd love to base something off it, sadly there is no Platypus so it stops me from taking part, but its very imagnitive I'll give you that.

If I were you, I'd just go with the Platypus and make up some species bonuses for it. As long as it's not overpowered and makes sense, I'm sure any crud will fly.

I'd use a Salamander, myself.
