Default Is it bad that I remember...

Sonic the Hedgehog's cheat codes? I still remember level select and debug. Oh debugging was so fun on this. I remember that level select was UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, HOLD A, PRESS START. I remember it like the back of my hand. I also was able to combine the two codes to create debug / level select in one code. UP+C, DOWN+C, LEFT+C, RIGHT+C, HOLD A, PRESS START. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 had a bit more difficult cheat code, requiring sound test in the correct order.
I just miss playing on my Genesis, I'm stuck playing Sonic's Ultimate Genesis on Xbox360.
I still don't know why I can remember this? Am I a fanboy??

No, it was the easiest. I remember wishing that all the Level Select codes were simply a matter of playing Sound Test numbers. I'm no good at the rapid directional pad motions.

I could never remember the numbers for the sound test. I had a book that had a whole bunch of Genesis codes. The funny thing is I only used it for that sound test. I even used that page so much that it ripped out completely. This site is like a flashback for me! lol

I could never get the Sonic 3 cheat code to work.

I know for a FACT that this one hardly ever worked! And yes my controller was thrown as well. This code never worked for me, but my brother was able to do it one time. I was so jealous.

I could get every other cheat code to work except for that one.

TOY STORY!!! I cant believe that you remember that code. MK was constantly used by me as well. And for Doom, well there was some good times. Man, you got me beat for code memorization. lol
I wish my Genesis never quit... If only SEGA could give me a new one.

There was a trick where you can do Sonic 2's Level Select code, than -GENTLY- remove the cartridge -VERY- slowly. Insert Sonic 3's cartridge and hit reset on the Genesis while holding on to the, "C" button. You'll now have a level select in Sonic 3.
