Full 1080p HD Visuals Confirmed for PS3/Xbox 360 version

Good news for fans of pretty visuals in their games as the Official PlayStation Europe site and the Official U.S. Xbox site have confirmed that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 will play in 1080p HD via the games product pages at both sites. No other info such as a release date are listed at the moment.

Odd. I have a 42 inch 1080p HDTV and it makes my Wii games look a lot better than they do on my SDTV, and it's virtually free of jagged edges. Granted, I had to mess around with a lot of settings but you get the idea.

Unless you actually want your Wii games to look bad, in which case it's as easy as turning the system on.

Considering most of the game is pre-rendered there's no reason for it to not be 1080p, unless they were being lazy and made the graphics at low res.

GS: Will there be any differences between the different versions? That is, will the Wii have motion control, or will the PS3 and 360 run at 1080p?


KB: For all intents and purposes, the games are designed to be identical. There are a few differences per what each console can output visually: Wii will be at 480p, while the XBLA and PSN versions will run at 1080p. However, for certain areas of the game, the Wii will be able to use motion control, and the PS3 will be able to use the Sixaxis.

There is some TV's that upscale nicely, most don't though.

Unless you actually want your Wii games to look bad, in which case it's as easy as turning the system on.

Lol mate you have no idea how awful the Wii looks on a 1080p LCD tv thanks to Nintendos ignorance of not adding a scaling chip to even help the process my tv really struggles to upscale it in a good way.
