WOW! This sucks, we get a half finished game for the standard price and now we will NEVER get a full game.
I will return the game once I get the last of the achievements.

So... AVP.... lack of funding for patch 5.... and yet, look at how ACM is turning out. How's that karma feel?
From a Arcade standpoint, Global is at the top of the heap (not saying all that much since there is so few left in "the heap"). Their Nascar line is great, but don't get your hopes over that Aliens game. They took A LOT of liberties with it.
I still think of that other Aliens game sega had at the time Alien 3 came out. Never found that cab either, but thank freaking god for the guys who wrote MAME. I can only pray the same thing happens again down the line at some point.

"Alien 3: the gun", though game to beat. I'm sure you'll see Aliens: extermination, on the wii sometime soon
no no no... here's the problem. You see most arcades get home ports, but from Global VR's perspective they do this in reverse. If you see stuff like that horrid Justice League or America's Army. The games they do get originally were by statement to -NOT- get a home port on any occasion due to the fact they want people to keep playing in the arcades.
By this logic I couldn't help but do a double-take over the whole thing. Arcades? "WHAT ARCADES!??" THEY'RE GONE! There's nothing left and you're only lucky if they have a few games on the side at bowling alley's or a side-show attraction at some joint that'll cost $2 for maybe 50sec of play if you're lucky enough.

Rebellion would like to keep supporting the title on all formats for as long as we are allowed. However, ultimately the licence belongs to Fox and the game is published by Sega, and any decisions rest with them.
Can they clarify this matter? As of now, the console versions are in dire need of bug and balance tweaks such as what the PC version has been given. Why decide to fix one version and not all? Especially considering how well the adjustments in PC Patch 5 improved the game.
Having difficulty grasping the fact AVP '10 turned out to be the superior game in almost every respect.
people need to stop overstating the need for this patch. Apart from the fact that the flame thrower is useless, the balance is not too bad right now. I don't care if predators are more powerful than marines or aliens.
game balance should be achieved by scoring, not by nerfing the predator until its equal to a marine or alien. I would prefer every species as accurately portrayed as possible, and deal with balance by scoring mechanism.
i.e. give predators negative points to start each match and a negative point every minute they fail to kill someone. (they are supposed to be hunters).
give marines positive points simply for not dying every 60 seconds. (after all they are almost always depicted as being in over their heads and just trying to stay alive).
do everyone accurately, and if the predators are way more powerful than the other races fix it with points.
yeah I'd love to see more patches.. but I'm not entitled to it. I bought the new maps and I have fun with then.
Wow, it's nice to see that Rebellion actually has enough balls to tell us where the blame lies. We all know that you released a somewhat buggy and unbalanced product. You know it, Sega knows it, your fans know it. I'd still hazard to guess that Sega placed a pretty strict deadline on the release and your dev team got shafted by it, leaving you all to pick up the pieces afterward with patches. I was actually very relieved tos ee that Rebellion was, in my opinion, pretty much fixing the game. The last patch, the now infamous "PATCH 5", essentially fixed every major nitpick I've ever had with the game. Its release for consoles would of had me running through the streets, telling my friends to grab the game so we could play together again. Sadly, it seems that Sega has decided to cut you off on the final leg of the race.
Regardless (and I hope you read this), I truly do enjoy the latest maps. Tempest is amazing and clearly inspired by the rainy scenes set on Acheron when the Marines first land on the colony in Aliens. Furious is a beautiful and creepy level that reminds me of Alien3 every time, and even Crash Site is a nice big, dark level with an awesome set piece in the center. So...good work. The massive negativity around here is due to everyone's frustration at the lack of communication, the perceived mistreatment of the console side of the fanbase, and all the annoyances with the broken matchmaking in the game.
Balance issues will always be debated and tinkered with over time. I'm convinced that most of the problems on this forum are because of the things I just mentioned.
Congratulations, that's about the worst idea I've ever seen anyone come up with during all my time on this forum. And man have I seen some stupid ideas.
Though, stepping back for a moment, the epic storm of Predator fanboy rage from turning every game mode into a version of PREDATOR HUNT would be glorious. But alas, it's still an awful idea.
