Nintendo+Sega = awesome
A stupid idea. A very stupid one.
It probably wouldn't work out
but we will NEVER get a Bayonetta sequel!!1! MASSIVE FAIL NOES N-O NO!
Only if Sega had no other option to survive would I consider it logical for Sega to merge with Nintendo. Sega and Nintendo are just way to different. Nintendo is more PG and most of there games are just so Friendly it sickens me. Sega was never afraid to be on the border line come on guys remember Night Trap? Mortal Kombat? Sega cdx, Saturn? Nintendo never wants blood in there games and no bad language. Sega always pushed forward with cutting edge technology and games while Nintendo would sit back and watch and have Sega part the waters so they could walk on in. Sega really needs to make people remember just how great they once were. They should do retro releases of there older consoles. The Dreamcast retro released would make people realize what an overlooked console it was and see it for how innovative it really was for it's time. There is no doubt in my mind anybody who played a Dreamcast today would see it is still competitive with the wii right now. Take away the wii gimmicks and what is really there? I am still waiting for Sega to come to there senses and release a new gen console and I think right now would be the perfect time to do it. Lets bury the enemy and reign king once again Sega!
Anybody who thinks we would get higher quality Sonic games the answer is NO. No we would not, You think Nintendo would put Sonic over Mario? Never.

Sega merges as a third party making games for all platforms included nintendo systems, sega is now in every home in every console now merge like a company who makes games of different kind.
If SEGA was ever bought with Nintendo, I would never buy another Sonic game again. They are a horrible company.
Sonic would be great as a Nintendo exclusive, along with SEGA's other games. Nintendo seems to be the only game company who understands what the entertainment really is about. I couldn't care less about good graphics. Playing a game for good graphics is like watching a soap opera just to see people cry. It's the gameplay that matters most. It's a shame that so many people diss the Wii for non-HD graphics. We have a bunch of amazing games for the system, like Super Mario Galaxy 2, Sonic Colors, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Paper Mario, the list goes on and on. The system may not be the same thing as its competition, but that's the point. All we see in this industry nowadays are copycats. But I'm looking at these responses, and I'm concerned all these people care about is voice acting, storyline, and other stuff that really isn't worth stressing over. I bet you there's a lot more out there that does worse at the pointless stuff than Sonic.
We always see Sonic and SEGA seemingly depending on Microsoft, Sony, and Apple. The first two probably couldn't care less if Sonic left them. All they care about is their money earned from whiny first-person shooter fanboys. It's sad to find that you never see any other people playing Call of Duty and Halo. I actually used to like these games a lot, but their fanbase has driven to the point that I just never want to see a copy of their games again. Activision used to be good with Crash Bandicoot and other games, but I never see any of those anymore thanks to the crazy fanboys. The same thing probably applies to no more Banjo-Kazooie or Conker because Microsoft is just too busy focusing on Halo. In fact, I remember the times when Pokemon was like the old Call of Duty. Now I've never gotten into Pokemon, and it may have been a bit annoying when others would constantly talk about it. But it's nowhere near as big of a problem as the talks about Call of Duty that involve fanboys where the only opinion that matters is their own.
Apple has Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, which are actually good, but then there's the good looking apps that are at first free, but constantly encourage you to buy things. Some games look so bad, they shouldn't even be given advertisements, like Zynga's games. I actually tried FarmVille and got bored of it quickly with so many things that would need to be bought with real money, and it was just nothing special. Plus, Apple also gets a lot of popularity from Draw Something and Words With Friends. A lot of these games are also going on about good graphics with something called retina display. Also, SEGA's games have lately been performing a lot better on consoles than on Apple's devices. Just look at Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing and Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II.
Either this should happen, or Nintendo should become a third-company.
It's getting annoying to hear people who can't give good arguments, let alone more hating on the Olympics. If you can't tell us why you don't like them, we continue to scratch our heads at why you dislike them. Trolling is not an excuse. I can't even see what's not to like. You may not have liked old-school Mario, but I can tell you now that if you try the newer games you might enjoy them. Attacking Sonic with Mario in the Olympics and Super Smash Bros. Brawl is just a popular thing to criticize for no apparent reason it seems. I saw a video from some troll on YouTube who was crazy enough to believe only his opinion was valid, and that method is all I ever see in criticisms of crossovers with Sonic and Mario.

SEGA would lose way too many sales! I like SEGA the way they are, because it means that you're very likley to be able to play their games, no matter the console you have.
Although it would be a smart move in Nintendo's decision (since Sonic and Mario are both very well known gaming icons) which would probably earn them not only more money but also another exclusive for their platform. I doubt it will happen, although if I were Nintendo I would have done so by now. I would much prefer SEGA remains multiple console based or at least goes to either Microsoft (360) or Sony (PS3) as I like both those systems over the Wii, would it kill us if Nintendo bought SEGA? Probably not, although I think everyone here would prefer SEGA not be bought out.
If Sony or Microsoft bought SEGA, Sonic would end up the same way as either Crash Bandicoot and Banjo and Kazooie. I doubt either would even care about Sonic or the other SEGA games. Crash Bandicoot was an excellent way to start off an entrance into the gaming industry. But after he was given away, he's not what he used to be, and neither is Spyro. Now he's with Activision, who pays no attention to him. Instead, all that attention goes to whiny Call of Duty fanboys who probably play the game like noobs by using very overpowered weapons and vehicles.
Microsoft is the same way. They bought the popular company Rare, known for games like Donkey Kong Country, Banjo-Kazooie, and Conker's Bad Fur Day. Fortunately, the original Donkey Kong didn't involve Rare, so thankfully DK is still going strong. But not Conker, Banjo, and Kazooie, who are actually original creations from Rare. It's all thanks to another first-person shooter known as Halo. That series isn't even as old as either of those, and it still has more games than both, including spin-offs, now with the recent Halo 4 on its way.
I cannot deny I really enjoy both of those shooter games, but they get too much attention than they need. A moment for other good games is needed urgently, and now is the perfect time when they are about to be forgotten to exist.
If Nintendo bought SEGA, I also forgot to mention we'd have quite a bit of several newcomers to Super Smash Bros. which sounds good to me, along with the reasons on my last post.
