This topic was made well before the fact, but man do I wish I could time travel back to troll on that.

It's not happening within the next console generation, just a guess. Sega would have to really screw up, and as much as I'm frustrated with them on some levels, they're not at that point where I think Nintendo buying them out would be entertained by their Mr.'s and Mrs.' Moneybags now.

I do not like this idea. If anyone was going to buy Sega, then it should not be someone that helped take them out of the console industry. It should be an electronics company that already exists that wants to buy them, who does not have any experience in video games yet. That way they could make both video games and whatever else the electronic company already made.

    An A+ idea

Basically, we all want Sega to be doing something different than what they're doing now. Being a software maker and publisher, they are capable of more than that.

I thought Sony caused that when the Playstation 2 came out.

That's an overly sentimental way of looking at business.

Having said that, Nintendo seem to be doing a good job of dropping the ball, so buying Sega probably wouldn't be good for either of them at the moment.

I like both Sega and Nintendo, so I wouldn't mind. However, I prefer companies to be independent and separate from each other. Im not a fan of monopolies. However, if it is a matter of going out of business or not, then I can understand.

It was defiantly Sony. The best selling console ever made, was just around the corner from the Dreamcast launch. Sega was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Nintendo and Microsoft were no threat.

Nope, two differnt styles of videogaming. If Nintendo was a stand alone company, they would have hit rock bottom years ago. SEGA is like that but their style works out for them.
