Eggman escaping reminded me of the Joker's final scene in 'Mask of the Phantasm'
Why are Bean and Bark captured?![]()
First of all, nice story, mate.
Here my thoughts:
- Tails can swim, it seems like if anyone is talking about his abilities they tend to forget that he can, maybe you could implement something like: goind through a flooded area and make use of his swim-ability to reach a switch thus making the way clear for Sonic & Knuckles?! Especially when we barely see him in the next chapter.
- Why does the Emerald appear all of a sudden?
- Sonic jumping out of a plane is still a little bit.. I dunno... incoherent?!
- That part when the engine malfunctions - you could explain it with 'sand' since they flew over a desert and Tails had to land there.
- How does Amy find Sonic? - She spotted their plane? Just an example of an explanation.
- That sign Tails notices, it should be in kilometers not miles... a little nitpick here ^-^
- Why doesn't Tails grab Cream and fly away with her...? he should feel guilty at that time already!
- It may be just me but Bean sounds quite grownup - too grownup.
- That situation I've quoted here:
doesn't add up well. After Fang submits his proposal, dinner follows, they're interrupted by Bean and Bark who attack him and are knocked out in the end - Sonic and the gang as well.
And now the part that puzzles me - Fang says that Sonic just had to agree and he could walk away without any problem. Problem is, Sonic didn't have a chance to agree...
- Tails - a damsel in distress?
- When Cream was nearly killed (injured) - couldn't Sonic just spin and free himself? I'm sure I saw it somewhere... There again I like your version more - heroic Tails is heroic! ^-^
- Where's Chao?
- Why do they carry their M.E.S.S. plan pieces with them? Wouldn't it be wiser to hide them somewhere?
I'll see if I can answer your questions.
-That is a pretty good idea. I'll see about it in another story if I get around to it.
-The emerald was always with them, since my first story, if you remember.
-Sonic has pulled crazy stunts like that before. Check SA2.
- True, but I am no mechanic.
-Amy found Sonic by accident. I wanted to create the irony of how she still finds Sonic, even when she isn't looking for him.
- This is Sonic's world, and my story. But it doesn't really matter, anyway.
- He was overpowered, remember?
-I had to get Bean to tell his story in a way that the reader would understand. I did edit his original speech to add some dialogue truer to his crazy self.
- The answer to your confusion is actually quite simple. Fang had no idea that Bean and Bark were even in the village, much less in his dining room. Thus, when he saw those vengeful partners of his, he assumed that Sonic had purposely used them to turn them against him. (This wasn't the case; Sonic only let them tag along as some extra help). Fang, thinking he had been double-crossed, activated the security system.
-Tails may be a genius, but he's still a kid. Remember that he isn't as physically strong as most of the others are. But he does prove his worth often enough, such as when he got the jump on Fang.
- This isn't Archie, kid. Besides, I think it adds a good tiny bit of development for Sonic.
- I honestly didn't feel like writing for Cheese or any other chao in this story. I thought of this as I was writing, and came to this conclusion: Cheese is by Cream's side as always, you just have to leave him to your own imagination. And he will never be "the real ultimate life form" in my writing.
-Eggman is a genius. He would find the pieces, and, unguarded, they would be easy to snatch. The Big Three had a better chance keeping it amongst themselves. As you saw, Eggman may have gotten the jump on Tails and Knuckles, getting their pieces easily, but he was forced to face Sonic head on, leading to his defeat. A direct assault to any of them could have stopped him easily. The Big Three are their own little security system.
As to what happened to those two pieces, there are two possibilities. Either Sonic got them just in time, or they burned in the explosion. As for the doctor's apparent escape, I don't plan on writing an explanation anytime soon.

Why did it appear then?
Guess, I didn't notice that part, Sonic is quite slow though... ^-^Before Sonic could counter the argument, two brutish fellows seized Cream.
So it was in the Archie comics then... and technically I'm 2 years older than you... just sayin' ^-^- This isn't Archie, kid. Besides, I think it adds a good tiny bit of development for Sonic.
You mean if they did hide those pieces like in some random tree for example, he'd still find them?!-Eggman is a genius. He would find the pieces, and, unguarded, they would be easy to snatch. I'm surprised that no one caught the Bed Intruder reference in the third part of the Team Hooligan story. I thought I made it fairly obvious.

Tails was more of a pilot than a wizkid. Remember, the original biplane was Sonic's plane. Not built by Tails at all. Plus, Sonic Adventure said f**k all to the best plot points in Sonic 3 & Knuckles and pretended they never happened. Knuckles had a Hidden Palace to hide the big gem instead of LEAVING IT OUT IN THE OPEN.
Think more, Sega. If you have a good idea don't throw it away like... wait.. Sega...? Never mind. Sonic Team's head hasn't the slightest clue what he's doing anyways.
Dost thou wish to know the dreadfully dreadful televised animate show as of the moment being? Adventure Time as I believe it's called.
