Howzer (Ambition's End Pt. 2)

I'm presently playing a level 32 beast wartecher L1... and this dude is handing my *** to me on a platter over and over and over again. I fill my palate with trimates and dimates; I'm using a light-based pair of knives; I run around like a madman desperately trying to avoid getting hit (getting hits in on the occasion Howzer turns his attention to Lumia or... that other dude). I eventually run out of trimates and dimates (after a good 20 minutes or so of running around like a chicken with its head cut off) and die.

Question: What level were you when you beat this guy? Is there a trick to it I'm not getting?

The trick is to get behind him and kill the little worm things fast. I did this when I was a level 50.
