    Default Where is the support?

Sega, You better hope I don't find out who was responsible for deciding to pull the plug on AVP. If I ever do, it's "game over man"! Seriously, why was the game completely abandoned? People have questions like "why does my game get stuck at creating group'?
Sega was an obvious road block for Rebellion. Next time just give them the money to make the game then stand aside and let the talent do their thing. Big stupid publishers like you do nothing but produce **** and **** for the masses. Hand over the rights to the license and get the the **** out of the way. This game could have been so much more than it is, and its Sega's fault for all its shortcomings. I will never pay for another sega published game again. I want to find the man responsible cutting support for AVP and do this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GApYL...ature=related:

Good luck! However, I wouldn't spend my time trying to find someone involved in this project because after that failure they've all splitted up (I guess). Save your energy to the upcoming games instead. You will suffer less...

It was abandoned because Sega didn't want to continue flushing money down the toilet for a dead game. Microsoft charges tens of thousands of dollars for every patch, DLC, or anything after the first initial release through Xbox Live. The game dropped off the sales charts after barely a month, and so few people bought the DLC it was like throwing money away.

True, but one could argue the game wouldn't have been dead so soon (or at all) had it received the amount of polish and development time it deserved prior to it's release. The problems that plagued the game should have been addressed before launch and never should have existed after. The title fell short because of sloppy implementation of some otherwise great ideas, omissions of basic gameplay features and options, and poor net-code/hit detection/species balance/ranked matchmaking. It was so close, yet so far to being the AVP game it should have been.
Having difficulty grasping the fact AVP '10 turned out to be the superior game in almost every respect.

I don't know who your source is on that one but it's simply not true. Microsoft's doesn't charge for game patches in any, way, shape or form. All patches undergo a vigorous MS certification process to ensure a secure and working network, but that's all on MS. Content on the other hand, is a little bit different and also has no upfront fee. They (MS) get a cut of the sales.

Hmm... I assumed he was exaggerating to make a point, but I'm pretty certain Microsoft and Sony do acquire some form of payment for digitally distributed data (including patches and title updates) as well as undergoing their meticulous screening process for all uploaded DLC. I cannot site any sources as it's been some time, but I do recall reading a few articles on the matter.

Regardless, if Max and I are wrong, it only makes the situation worse for Sega and Rebellion in the eyes of the players. lol

When they decided that the game was balanced, I was looking at it as either not willing to bother with other resources due to time/other BS, or just sheer arrogance. If you look at what happened to Derby, it's likely they just don't give a damn for how they conduct their business. I've seen the signs before with a good number of dev houses so something like this doesn't even surprise me anymore. Btw, any info on whether or not the Derby folks got liquidated? I'd feel pretty sorry for their pensions if these scumbags ran off with them....
So... AVP.... lack of funding for patch 5.... and yet, look at how ACM is turning out. How's that karma feel?

I just format C: two days ago and I'm just steam/downloading my survivor crap edition again to have a couple of matches..., I need to remember what the true meaning of lag is from time to time, because Rebellion did their best on this right?

Also I recall now, didn't Alan Pritchard promise some news two months ago?, man Sega do really know managing some serious franchise like alien, hey?, or maybe this is the second time he lied about this

Can't take these guys in serious anymore

Unfortunately. When Pritchard said couple of months... I guess that was supposed to mean soon which for games means within the decade.
