Release date (Gamestop)

Well, we all prolly saw this coming, since SEGA already has announced this game's release to be holiday 2011.

Gamestop's website speculates the release date to be december 31s- wait what? The last day of 2011?! Kinda weird imo, since this year is Sonic's anniversary, not next year xD.

Im pretty sure this is just speculation though, and it'll definitley change later on.

They do this with all games that are TBA for the year. It's just a placeholder, trust me. More than likely you'll see this game in November.

That's a placeholder date they'll put on any game listed as "Holiday 2011". If they don't know the actual date of a game coming out this year, they mark it for the last day of the year until a more solid release date is confirmed.

Sometimes sites like that give a very generic date like December 31st, and it doesn't actually come out that day. At this point, Generations may still wind up being pushed back to 2012 for all we know, although hopefully not.

At any rate, SEGA will most likely want the game out in time for Christmas as well as the Anniversary, so I don't think December 31st is a very likely date.

SEGA loves to squeak in before the holidays, however I believe they're being careful on this one.

You can pre order now, but I like to wait because sometimes you'll get neat promotions the later you pre order.

Hmmm, alrighty then, I'll wait till after E3 at least then haha. Usually, since I pre-order so many games at my gamestop, whether I preo-order or not they usually give me the bonus anyways...strange, but I guess it's cause im kind of a regular there xD.

The game looks perfect, in fact give us a demo to let us know where it's currently at. I mean really, this had to be in development since Sonic Unleashed!
