Default New to Game and Boards

    Hi All,

    New to PSO games totally.

As this is my only PSO game I am wondering if you would mind giving me some Tips on how to play this game so I know what I am doing.

Please, if it takes steps to complete give those since I have only been playing for about 1 -2 hours total.

Thanks, and I look forward to being part of the community.

Faithful, welcome to the PSO boards and to Eps3 PSO
You will find a tutorial for the game in the main menu. You might want to run thru that for some hints and tips. Also just take your time, read the booklet that came with it. You might want to start with the Hero side. Its easier than the Arkz. Start on story mode but keep practicing in free battle too. Any questions...ask here, people are always willing to help.

It's good to people trying PSO for the first time. An excellent choice I might add. I won't be able to help much when it comes to EpIII. However if you ever buy EpI&II, please feel free to post as there are many cool cats on this forum who would be more than happy to share any info and tips with you.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.

I have thought about PSO I & II, but I thought it was only an online game.

Can you play it offline as well?

Also, are there a lot of people that play online?

Also, can you tell me the difference between the regular version of PSO I & II, and the Plus version of the game?

Which would I want to pick up?

    Thanks

Yes, EpI&II are playable offline and online. If you have friends you can still play multiplayer offline via split screen. Now there is a big big difference between the first 2 episodes and episode 3. EpI&II are action-based RPG. Much like Diablo or Zelda of some sort. You slice, shoot, or zap enemies depending what kind of character or class that you use. Open up new levels/difficulty and hunt for better weapons, armors, and rares. If online you have much much more options available to you. Like exclusive online Quests. There are too many to list. There is also a challenge mode online, which judge you by your time and if completed by meeting time criteria will reward you with different types of weapons of your choice and naming. There is also a battle mode. Though not many people battle each other online nowadays. It was never that popular come to think about it.

Now for EpIII as you already know is a Card-battle game. When online you team up with a friend to battle 2 others. Online for EpIII is not as good as EpI&II since there are not as many people. However if you ever want to play online with EpIII, I would recommend that you're online with EpI&II as well because there are some Quest which you can download on EpI&II to play it on EpIII. Hope I'm not confusing you. But regardless happy gaming. Feel free to PM me or post on the forums as there are many here who plays online more so than I do. Good luck.

PSO Eps1&2 is extremely hard to find now days. You are better off getting the Plus version. Not only is it cheaper, but you also get some content that the original Eps1&2 doesn't have. They can both be played online and offline.

Yes but if you get the original PSO, it will most likely be used and you wont be able to get online with it if it had gone online before. But you should be able to find a NEW copy of Plus, even if it means getting it from an Internet store.
