b) Defense Spirit on a R or SR.
Agreed! All the Spirit/Aura skills are perfect for R and SR mobs. They don't need an increase in level to see a huge benefit (Assuming you increase the INT on the mobs with shifts/auras)
Another option is to use him for siege until you get at least 2 more and level his skill to 3. Then you can synth Aegis.

USE CP To sync instead .
I had just Synced it to my R Royal and got aegis.
Is Aegis worth in combat?
Two of them were synced by CP but same ending...really **** me off \./
I will never use CP to enhace skill level again coz i can't see any difference between CP and DP!!
