    Default Sony announced that Resident Evil 1 -3 for free on psn+

    PlayStation Blog, Sony announced that Resident Evil 1 (Director's Cut), Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3 will be free for PlayStation Plus subscribers later this month. Aside from that Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica will be available to PS+ subscribers for half the price upon their release.

    good for non re fans actually.

    actual fans (like me) would already have the originals, plus some ports. (i have EVERY port of re2, including the game.com port).

    however, its still not entirely free, as they would stop being so when you cancel plus. as i was on gamefaqs reading this some days ago, they all complained about it, they rather had discounts.

    From where I'm standing it looks pretty smart. They are next to worthless PS1 games. Giving them away free to people who subscribe to plus makes sense. Not that many people are going to rebuy these PS1 games. But they download them then they are tempted to complete the set so they buy the half price resident evil games, then maybe they go out and get the next full retail resident evil game.

    Not really what i was getting at, this is obviously an attempt to get customers to sign up for PSN+, in which case it's not free. You could get the actual disks off ebay for cheaper if they want to play them that badly.

    There is a lot of good discounts and freebies when you sign up for PlayStation Plus. You get more then just free PS1 games.
