Cannot activate the game.

I purchased this game a day ago and I cannot activate the game. I tried getting a "Activation Request". But where's the server to upload that?

Alternatively, I read through the forum and found that I can download APgame.exe to bypass that activation process completely. Now, after having done all that (replacing the old file in the "Binaries" folder with a newly downloaded one) the game crashes with an error upon start-up. Can anyone help?
