Maybe the best crossover game I may ever see if it's made.
It looks good, but there are still others that seem better.
I don't know until I see if 2D or 3D gameplay will be used.
I don't think it could turn out good, but we'll have to see.
I don't like the idea. These two are still rivals or I like Sonic/Mario, but dislike Mario/Sonic.
I wasn't suggesting combined gameplay from both series. I meant something like Sonic Generations with two different gameplay styles for each respective character in re-imagined classic areas.
Either that or they could just make two seperate games, one game with Sonic gameplay, and the other with Mario gameplay. It's not the first time that method was used. Capcom and Namco accomplished this recently by putting Street Fighter gameplay in Street Fighter X Tekken and Tekken gameplay in the upcoming Tekken X Street Fighter. A crossover for Spyro and Crash Bandicoot was also once made in a similar way on the Game Boy Advance.
However, the idea of an RPG would be interesting as well. I haven't played many RPGs besides Super Paper Mario, and I'm well aware I'm missing out on a lot including Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Final Fantasy, and Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. It sounds like it would be an interesting approach.
I proudly support the ideas of a Mario and Sonic platformer crossover for Wii U and 3DS!

I would like to run through Bob-omb Battlefield and Bowser's airships as Sonic, or jump on the springs and swim into the mega-mack of Chemical Plant as Mario.
Also Luigi already seems to have the "tails suit" power up XD

Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Cream... I want them playable again T_T Blaze too.
Favorite Sonic games: Sonic 1,2,3&K - Sonic 1 gg/ms - Sonic Adventure 2 - Sonic Advance 1,2 - Sonic Colors
Putting them on neutral ground would work for the platforming and we don't have to have alt gameplay (people will complain about playing Sonic waiting for the next Mario stage and vice versa). Like Mario 64's structure and switch characters anytime.
Otherwise I'd play a RPG crossover.
Giving Sonic Mario's gameplay would slow him down to a SCREECHING halt, and vice versa with Mario, he'd be super fat plumber guy!
But I would love to see something like this. Maybe let Nintendo make the game and SEGA do the Audio Visual work. Not saying SEGA Can't make a game, they can (Look at Moonwalker, a fine game and I'm not joking) it's just Nintendo are better is all, but SEGA Could get I dunno....Magna Fi (Crush 40 are slightly overrated in my opinion, but for a good reason they're great!) to do the theme song? Rivals collide could be it's name or something....and when it comes down to it SEGA Make a game look good.
Theres also the problem of V/O. Mario has pretty much none, whereas Sonic has loads.
I can settle for anything, really. As long as it has some 3D segments and Tails fully playable.
Quoting myself again:
I also wanna add this would make for a good 4-player experience at the same time. Also, that bit about platforming and racing overlapping, couldn't you just add segments like running stages where you control auto running characters to collect items and dodge obstacles, and power ups for more speed, resulting in better timing and earning bonus scores?
It's something everyone's wanted to see for a while, but I don't really know what Mario and Sonic have in common other than being platforming mascots for consoles who were competing with each other.
you know, I think they should make a game featuring Sonic alongside other Sonic characters before other characters from another series like Mario.
Just saying that it's been a long time since we've seen any playable action by anyone other than Sonic in the main series games.
