Default Thank you, SEGA, for a lovely game.

Today I went into Bestbuy with a giftcard I had gotten for Christmas. I wanted a Wii game, and was expecting to get Kirby Return to Dreamland, or Sin and Star Punishment, but for some reason, I ended up walking out with Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. When I put it in my Wii and began to play, I was instantly hooked.

As I'm sure you can guess, I'm more of a Sonic fan than Mario, I love Mario, sure, but Sonic games have a bit more depth, plus, they have more difficult gameplay.

I played the 2008 Summer Olympics when they released, but I was ultimately bored with them, they didn't have anything that made them exceptional or extraordinary in anyway. I still enjoyed the game, but I can't say I've touched it in a good three years. I wanted the Winter games, but for some reason, I never ended up getting it..

Anyway, I can't believe no one has thanked you guys yet, the game is great. Ignore the criticism, as someone who has been playing minigame collections for years, this is honestly in the top three I've ever played.

The events are plentiful, and while I haven't tried them all, there aren't any that I dislike. I like horseback riding, I love the Dream Events (like everyone else.)

Now, London Party is the new feature in this game. It's similar to Mario Party, and man.. It's addictive! I turned it on, and before I knew it, three hours had past and I had done nine matches!

I also like the custom music feature, just like in Sonic Generations. As unfitting as it sounds, I like Coconut Mall with Dream Sprinting (my favorite sport, by the way )

More characters and a story mode would be nice, but nonetheless, this game will be in my Wii for quite a while.

    THANK YOU, SEGA!

Anyway, nice job, SEGA! Whether there's more Olympic games, or a new kind of Mario + Sonic mix, you've got my support.

Welcome Noog09 to the growing club of folks who have noticed that this series has been improving to the point that it actually eclipses most other party games out there in quality.

SEGA deserves the compliment for the effort they've put behind this series and hopefully they will continue to do so.

I agree with this completely, I think the Olympic Games have improved greatly since Bejing 2008. I reccomend you think about getting Vancouver 2010's game as well. I find the Festival mode in that game to be as much fun as London Party. The ability to choose different music is one of my favorite options in both games. I enjoyed Bejing 2008 a lot, but not near as much as London 2012 and Vancouver 2010. As much as a platformer crossover game for Mario and Sonic would be fun, I've been pretty satisfied with the Olympic Games. Although I still would like to know why the Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games app for iPhone was taken out of the app store. I never knew it existed and would like to play it someday.
I proudly support the ideas of a Mario and Sonic platformer crossover for Wii U and 3DS!

Excellent - glad to hear so much praise for the game! The guys and gals working on it put a lot of hard work in. (This can be said of almost every video game, but it's very true!)

P.S. - We don't yet have a userscore on Metacritic for the 3DS version yet... so if anyone who has picked it up recently would like to add their own review in, please feel free to! (Link)

Noting that the OP was talking about the Wii.... here's the link for the Wii page too - it could use more reviews, if you legitimately enjoyed it and don't mind posting your thoughts.

Good to know you appreciate the games! I love em too! I think this last one is definitely the best. When I think of Party games, no other game compares to the love and passion that is put into this game. Although my opinion on the 3DS version hasnt changed much, since for some reason they decided to take some steps backwards in some way or another but still, even with its flaws its the best handheld party game so far for me. Story mode is a must for the next installment though! (console version) You cant have problems (limit wise) with the WiiUs power though, so its no excuse xDD.

I hope Nintendo and Sega make more Mario and Sonic games. Hopefully going beyond the Olympics.
