I get the feeling that the people who are quick to criticize the Olympics haven't even tried them. Trust me, even when there is no official crossover, you should try the Dream Events on London 2012 and Vancouver 2010, and I'm convinced if I don't get an actual crossover, we got close enough that I'm satisfied.

I like the Olympic crossovers and I want them to continue. They are really fun. Seeing SEGA and Nintendo now a Mario x Sonic adventure would most likely be a crappy rehashed Mario game with to much boost and rings. I would rather it just stay Olympics. .-.

I've played the DS versions of the first two games, and I actually find winter olympics a bit enjoyable, but the idea that this is the best or only thing they could come up with for a crossover with these to is just insulting, given the history these two have of making great games. While the newest game looks somewhat ok, and I might even buy it only because I actually have money to throw around like that, when I look at this series and think of it's conception, I think of that South Park Meme about profit:
1.Make generic wii sports title based on Olympic games
2.Plaster Sonic and Mario's faces all over it with their respective Co.
3.????????
4.Profit
I'm not making these posts to argue with you guys and your opinions, don't have with you guys liking, I mean, power to you if you do, but I really think there are many routes they could've gone to make a better crossover series, even with mini-games, which is why this is the only one I've actually considered buying, the format along with everything else..... I'm sorry, but it's just wrong and almost insulting to my intelligence as a general gamer....
Of course it would be bad if that's the best idea you could come up with. Again, if people were to think long and hard, you could come up with one or two better, even if by slightly, better ideas for this. My main idea is a game based on how this XBLA title by EA was made, and works with both Mario and Sonic. All it would need is more characters, certain sections of sequences(example, snowbaording down a mountain while avoiding obstacles and getting collectibles on the way), a good story to explain why stuff is going down, and you could not only create a good game, but an enjoyable 4-player experience:
I mean, even if you don't like the idea because you don't like the way the gameplay is because it doesn't work with a certain character, despite the fact that this is a spin-off and you're willing to play a series that features sonic being able to lose in a foot race to the likes of any Nintendo character, why wouldn't this be as or even more popular then the Olympics?

It doesn't have to be called "Adventure 3", just bring back the formula from SA1,2, and 06 and update it.

Not necessarily a MUST. That's like the Mario fans saying Rosalina is now a MUST in every Mario spin-off and not to mention some of them would destroy the character (The Strikers series for example). It's would be nice if she was there, but her role as a rival is fitting for her. I'm not saying Rouge (or Rosalina for that matter) shouldn't be playable just that they aren't necessarily needed or must haves. Also if she were to be playable she would need a outfit change like the other girls since her outfit now is rather inappropriate for younger children.... mainly her cleavage.
On a side note Rosalina (whom I don't particularly like) should wear a different sports outfit than Peach and Daisy. The generic princessness going on is rather boring. They all have different personalities so let them show. Don't make them all like Peach because that's just boring. Peach is the girly type, Daisy is a tomboy, and Rosalina is calm and serious. Let that show in their way of dress instead of just recoloring what Peach wears. (rant... kinda)

But it's not like Rouge is the most powerful character or a Complete Monster. How about Wave taking her place as rival?
Wave is only a Riders character, so it's not likely she will be in anything else. Also Jet is a rival and he isn't a monster or all powerful. Rouge is fine as a rival, it would be nice to have her playable, but the role she has now is rather fitting and she's at least there. She could have not been included at all. :/
Just end the series please and give us a platformer. the way this is going with the mega man crossover comic next year happening i have a feeling that were gonna see a "Sonic and Mega Man at the fifa world cup"
I know. However, Silver wants to murder Sonic in cold blood and he's playable, Metal is an evil robot who is playable, and even freaking Robotnik is playable. And Wave (and Storm) showed up in a non-interactive form in London 2012.
