Well, it kinda is what he is. Sonic as a child. Sort of.

If Generations were any other game, "Classic" Sonic would probably look like Modern Sonic but shorter and with softer features because also in another game he'd be a representation of what Sonic looked like when he was younger.

I keep thinking back to that flashback Tails had in Sonic Adventure where he looked just like his Modern self for an example.

I think the lack of one-liners helped. He just seemed like a determined hedgehog fighting for justice, and nothing more. It's sort of refreshing, really.

He just seemed bland to me. In fact I sometimes forget he's in the scenes.
