Are there any good weapons to get from it? I heard of the mission, but never looked much into it. Should I bother getting either of the tech weapons for a Techer?

Nope. Waste of money/armor units. Only get them if you like the weapon skins.
We have no idea how strong (or weak) the final versions of these weapons are, yet.
I think they're going to be stronger than most of the weapons we currently have available.

They are probably going to be the strongest or second strongest weapons of each type in the entire game. PSU's nearing its natural conclusion, even in Japan.
idk if any rod can beat ESD tho.

EPD? Yeah, that's why I said best or second best.
The new rod looks likeand it's definitely 2nd best. I got it to 10 this morning. I beats the rutsu by 100 damage with diga and does like 480 less damage than the EPD. Oh, well. That was a waste of a billion meseta.
