nah brah, nintendo just didnt want to do it.

what does "too expensive" mean? unaffordable? nah. it means it just wasnt somethin they needed to put money into. it was a cut corner. and if you CAN cut a corner, not cutting the corner is too expensive. i know this cuz im a genius.

It launched $19.99 in 2009. This is added onto the cost of a Wii Remote Controller.
in 2006? I could see it costing 30-50 dollars more.
$59.99 for an attachment, $49.99 for a Controller, $19.99 for a Nunchuk... and that is for one person. If people are crying over a $350 console, imagine the backlash of the Wii launched at such an expensive price. For the whole family? Forget it.

$19.99 retail price is no indication of the cost to manufacture it. also, building it into the controller as opposed to creating a separate assembly would save a little money too. the $19.99 includes some money that has nothing to do with actual manufacturing, it also includes money for profit.

To be fair, the price of Wii accessories adds up really freaking fast. It's no wonder they'll continue to fully support them with the Wii U.

Did anyone actually buy Wii Speak?

Nintendo's EXACT words. They said it was expensive, so it WILL be expensive.

nah. it woulda been cheaper than u think if nintendo was fair about it. look at wii's cost to manufacture versus its retail price. wouldnt have been expensive if nintendo didnt choose to make it expensive. its just nintendo insists that all of their products have a higher profit margin than winning the lottery. im an expert.

Production costs and sales price are a poor way to judge profit margin. The Vita costs $159, is sold f0r $250, and Sony loses money on it.

3DS, likewise, has parts worth $101. It's losing money at $170.

This is because there is more to profit margin then cost of components.

There's also cost of labor, cost of shipping, various administrative expenses associated with producing and shipping a product, theres advertising and then there is retail mark up.

Forbes Magazine reported some years ago that, after all of that, Wii only makes $6 in profit:

i know this. i was thinking deeper than what my post was but i was too lazy to illustrate my thoughts.

i wasnt insinuating that they should sell a console at $10 over production price. i never seen a commercial advertising a stand alone wii remote, so the marketing part gets taken out. and if u haved the wii motion plus and wii remote in one assembly, ur not paying labor for 2 seperate assemblies, what my point is is that if nintendo was fair it would be cheaper to purchase it as one assembly than it would be to purchase a wii remore + wii motion plus.

nintendo is just being nintendo tho.

im still not typing the way my thoughts are but its cuz im lazy.
