I support this, behind Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia, Panzer Dragoon is my favourite series of all time.

Since snake123 has been posting a bunch of videos, I thought I'd upload the intro of Panzer Dragoon Saga to my Youtube channel and post it here as well:

I think this is the best quality version of the Panzer Dragoon Saga intro you'll find on the internet. I'm looking into creating more Panzer Dragoon videos in the near future as well.

Why so much effort (petition and a dedicated site) just to replay games that we already played on saturn and xbox and are still available to purchase?

Why not make this effort worth asking for a real sequel, Panzer Dragoon 5?

And to make it clear, Panzer dragoon is my favourite sega franchise...

As with many Sega games, they never found the audience they deserve. Few people own a Saturn, and Panzer Dragoon Saga will cost you around 200$ on Ebay. Even Panzer Dragoon Orta is only playable on an NTSC XBox360 as the PAL version crashes after Episode 3. Furthermore, the Saturn was barely capable of running Panzer Dragoon Saga, which was just ahead of its time. Even Panzer Dragoon Orta could look like this on modern hardware.

Because that's even less likely to happen, financially it's way too much of a risk. Releasing the old games on XBLA/PSN on the other hand is almost guaranteed to be a success. Rez HD is a very good example. Also, I'd rather not see Sega attempt to create new Panzer Dragoon game at this time, as they're not exactly at their best right now. Maybe if they let Land Ho! and Grounding Inc work on it, combined with ex-Smilebit from Sega, but even then, why invest in such a project when a lot of people haven't even played the original Panzer Dragoon games?

But they'll never receive the audience they deserve evev (or especially) with a digital release, rthe digital market is too limited on console, only few selected games make real numbers.
Sega on average barely reach 100k copies combined on both PSN and XBLA, so it's not a way to gather more audience, not at all.

Panzer Dargoon are games that belogs to Saturn and Xbox, and they have to remain there.
I could agree for a remake with a new graphic engine (especially fo PD Saga), otherwise it's a nonsense, we all know that A "panzer dragoon hd" would be bought only by PD fans, who virtually are the last people who need a simple porting.

Panzer Dragoon Orta actually looks better than those prerelease screenshots...

I agree, Sega now doesn't have a team that could handle a panzer dragoon game, and outsourcing to a third party would be a very bad idea.
Only Grounding (with a great help of sega japan teams) could handle it since it's basically half team andromeda, but it would be a wise choice for sega, so don't count on it ^^

But if we have the power to gather the fans and more people for one goal, I wouldn't waste it to ask always the same game that we already played in the past and to receive bad reviews from people who even don't know the series.

Sega is in real bad shape, if we continue to accept these lazy works/easy cash (hd porting on DD etc.) they will never recover, and even in 10 years we will not see a Panzer dragoon 5.

You must have read the news that Sega is all but abandoning the retail market now? The digital market isn't too limited at all at this point in time, in fact it's perfect for a lot of Sega's older games. See Virtua Fighter 5 and Jet Set Radio.

No idea where you get that idea, they're not even close. Those prerelease screenshots were taken from a build running in a very high resolution and then downscaled, while the actual XBox version was running in 480P. The final game looks good, but nowhere near that good.

They wouldn't receive bad reviews as long as the port is done correctly. These games are held in very high regard, and people don't have to know the series to recognize that. Also, this goal is far more realistic than asking for a new Panzer Dragoon game.

An HD rerelease doesn't have to be lazy, nor is it bad for Sega to get easy cash. If not this, then what's the alternative? Panzer Dragoon 5? If it's a rail shooter it's a guaranteed failure in retail, it would absolutely need to be released on XBLA/PSN. An RPG would require a considerable investment from Sega, and they'd have to create something that would be compared to Panzer Dragoon Saga, often considered to be one of the best RPG's ever made. Might as well remake Panzer Dragoon Saga instead then.

You mean the suicide mission plan? Yeah I read, but sega is planning to become a profitable small company, so it's fine for them to sell a few thousand of downloads, still the market is pretty limited.

If you mean only the resolution yes, othewise those screens seems little worse than the final product, especially for some effect and colors.

It's not a matter of only make a good porting.
Games like Sonic Adventure are victims of "historical revisionism", with people and critics says things like "after all it wasn't that special, a mediocre game, an overestimated game etc." all because portings are threated like "stopgap" games,
I don't want this to happen with old AAA sega brands like PD.

    The alternative is crimson dragon.

But are those hd porting real necessary? I think a PD fan still have access to old games (otherwise it wouldn't be a fan at all)
Plus Panzer Dragoon 1 was already ported on pc, PS2 and Xbox, PD Orta is a modern game who really don't need a remake, maybe in future but not now that is still fresh (it seems a current gen game), Panzer Dragoon Zwei is still a graphic jewel on the Saturn, the only one who really need a remake (not a hd porting, that would be ugly and luckly they have lost the source code, I mean a remake with new graphics) is PD Saga, but I don't see Sega make all this effort towards a niche rpg that would surely be even released as a digital title.

So your best bet is to stick with the original release, and try to change things here asking Sega to do their job, TO RELEASE NEW GAMES!
