So remember, if you're getting a Smartphone to serve as your own Personal Computer, think twice before you do.

Currently awaiting......Whatever.
I think it was best described as "We've moved into the era of Personal Computing and away from the era of the Personal Computer". The PC+ era of sorts, not this "Post PC" garbage.
Still, until these other gadgets can become that of like my desktop in user serviceability, I'm not looking into any of em.
The best mobile games are emulated games from other platforms.
You could at least try reading the article before turning this thread into yet another mobile hate-fest... did you really bump this thread just to do that?
On-topic: It's hard to tell where the article stands on devices such as tablets or Android netbooks. They still may not be as powerful as a PC, but for basic functions (web browsing, media storage, word processing, etc.) they can be just as efficient. The larger form factor and keyboard alone can make a world of difference. I mean, you wouldn't use a pocket PC or something to type out a five page essay. It's just common sense.

iPhones are killing real games. They need to die. IN HELL.
Do people actually try to replace a PC with a smart phone? If you only use it for email and web browsing, then it can. For schoolwork or anything that requires typing and lots of reading? An iPad or a Mac would definitely do better.
I don't understand why the kid in the introduction bought the iPhone instead of a cheap PC. I'm all for Apple, but even if you can get an iPhone for free, the data plan itself is pretty expensive. I guess if he needed a PC, a phone, and the Internet, then I could understand why. That said, surely there are inexpensive Bluetooth keyboards he can eventually get.
I'm the coolest!
