Tablets are okay too, but I think they'd be a big bulky to lug around every day.

You would carry them in the same kind of case you would a laptop, I believe. And laptops certainly aren't much trouble to lug around at all, so neither would a tablet.

I'd much rather have a laptop though if I had business to take care of on my time off. Typing on smartphones can be.. less than pleasant, especially if you're in a hurry. Voice search can help though.

Really? I think a tablet would be better personally, because laptops you actually have to put in your lap while a tablet you could just hold in your hands. Now will tablets replace PCs? Possibly, but IDK enough about them to say on that. But certainly tablet > smartphone.
