I like both games equally.
While Sonic Generations improves upon elements that were problems in Sonic Unleashed, it feels like it lost something in the process.
Sonic Generations
Sonic Unleashed
I cant decide
Both are awful games

Generations encouraged exploration a lot more than Unleashed.
SG had multiple pathways that lead to different areas.
SU had multiple pathways that lead to the same area.
SG felt reallllly short though. Werehog or not, SU felt like a more finished product at the end of the day. If SG controlled as good as sa2, and maybe had an optional spindash for modern sonic, I think it would be a lot better. As a whole, I had more fun with generations.
I'll stick to Generations. I like...
-Playing as both Classic and Modern. Both of them have different gameplay styles
-Modern Sonic stages have a lot of platforming, which I like
-I love the remixes that Generations has. After reading that music interview that SEGA posted on their blog, I kinda apprechiate the music (and Generations) more
-Skills shop let's me equip different skills to both, so now I can have a slightly different experience playing the game again
-And everything that was re-imagined is quite...fun!![]()
To live a life of power, you must have faith that what you believe is right, even if others tell you you're wrong. The first thing you must do to live a life of power is to find courage. You must be ready to reach beyond the boundaries of Time itself.
And to do that, all you need is the will to take that first step...
This thread again? -_-
Anyway, they're both awful games. But Generations is miles better than Unleashed.
The two games focus on completely different things anyway.
Unleashed just felt like a show-off game, it was nothing butthat showed off what they're new and improved engine could do.
Sure it had content, but it was missing the game. And even the game part of it was badly designed, frustrating and provided no fair challenge.
Generations had an actual game along with it.
And even if for some stupid reason it is, Generations is still faster than Unleashed for obvious reasons.

Generations by a long shot. At least it is a Sonic game, not a half-racing-half-God of War Ripoff that pretends to be a Sonic game.

I choose Unleashed over Generations any day not only do I like the Werehog(even though the PS3 version's werehog levels were too long I prefer the Wii's Werehog short and still fun)
Generations felt more like Sega let me down and generally whenever I finish playing Generations I never feel like i've been satisfied enough.Sure Gens had wide explorations on the stages but the stages were too short just when you start having fun with the stage its like "Man this is fun.... oh look the goal ring".Unleashed may have been more linear but atleast we had 4 to 6 minute stages instead of 1minute stages.
Also Generations had an unbalanced level of difficulty Modern Sonic's stages were easy to beat and classic's were more tedious but at the same time they felt more natural which is why as far as Sonic Gens go Classic sonic's gameplay is better.
Now I can add that Unleashed had more replay value with its DLC even though some of them were short like Adabat and Holoska's they keep you playing the game past the Throphies/Acheivements.
What the Gens have a Special DLC pinball game that still hasn't made it on PSN as well as any other DLC content hell i'll tak Sonic 06's Ver Hard Mode DLC than anything, yet again another reason why this game is a let down I had high expectations and not much of them were met.
So yeah vote goes to Unleashed for generally being a more satisfying game.
I prefer sonic generation, because the levels are slightly shorter, and I hate The werehog ¬¬
