Why does Cosmo even exist?

I don't remember him in sonic X, but it would've been funnier. He's one of the guys who can be retarded and still be funny, like Ed from Ed,Edd, and Eddy, and Meatwad from ATHF. Spongebob and the Family guy can go lie in a ditch somewhere, and leave Stewy and Brian to their own show. LMAO

Well, Wanda's husband is certainly a cheerful person, that is somehow always manage to amaze people. While he sounded more intellectual in the early stories (the ones that are very rough looking), he sounded more low brow in his current form.

It would be interesting though if he and Erazor Jinn ever met each other.



But let us focus on another Cosmo, the one from Sonic X.

Why does Cosmo even exist?
For a romantic love story, of course!

It is hard to do one on Sonic and Amy, since that it is not the strong point of their relationship. Also neither Sonic nor Amy is the type character that can become easily involved in a romantic love story. Nevertheless they did manage to hack it for the first 52 episodes.

After giving the X-Cyclone to Tails, they probably thought that the next step would be for him to be in a relationship with a green haired alien girl. With their whole relationship probably was patterned after the Lighted Way / Shining Road / Hikaru Michi / 光る道 ending song.



Either that or they are going to give him something that is much more sand rock.



But let just stick with Extreme Gears for the time being, okay?



Other than Tails, the next character is Shadow. See below.


Anyway. The goal for the Sonic X series is to air 52 episodes on Japanese airwaves, and that goal was a success.

However 52 episodes might be a bit too short if they are planning to air it outside Japan, especially in the United States of America. So an extra 26 episodes were produced to make the series much longer, despite they had no intention to air them in Japan. A necessary 'evil', since that the alternative would be to air it with an already existing Sonic TV series. Or even worst, merging their storylines together.

Both Sonic X' Cosmo and Molly probably were based on Rider and Raffine from the Puyo Puyo Fever series.
Much like on how Puyo Puyo Fever's Amitie herself was based on Amy.



Okay, here is a less F and more Sonic comparison of Rider and Cosmo.



Both had chinese style hairbuns, only Cosmo's are much smaller and pointier than Rider's.
Both are also horny characters.


Interestingly though, Raffine had no Sonic Deformed (animal form) counterpart,
despite that her Sonic X counterpart (the red headed Molly) was in a close relationship with Shadow.

Blaze -> Feli
Tails -> Sig
Silver -> Schezo/Sig/Lemres
Shadow -> Klug / Strange Klug
Sonic -> Arle/Sig


Sonic X' third batch of 26 episodes probably were also a test run for the story of what is going to be the story for 2006's Sonic the Hedgehog. Though parts of 2005's Shadow the Hedgehog and 2006's Sonic Riders can also be seen there in these episodes.

That was the love story that never was.



Considering SEGA / Sonic Team's habit of recycling things,
old materials probably would be recycled, either they were used or unused.

In the end, with Kozakura Etsuko / 小桜エツ子 voicing for BOTH Omochao and Cosmo.
It can be considered that Cosmo is always by Tails and the others' side, guiding them at every step.



Though if that is the case, then Tails definetly had a very NOISY girlfriend indeed.
Maybe this is the side that Cosmo secretly hides?

Cosmo should return, and serve a purpose in the sonic games, replace Big with Cosmo in Team Rose. I mean like, she's a better character than Big, right? If Cosmo the Seedrian would actually appear in the games, and people didn't know about Fairly Odd Parents, then We could stop focusing on Amy and Sonic.

Edit: Cosmo from Sonic X is a girl, not a Fairy-Boy, and the one decent character that started out in Sonic X.
