We don't know what the Wii U holds. It probably has a significant power boost compared to the 360. We're not going to be seeing full power on Day 1 for it. There is also the problem of the tablet using up the Wii U's power.

It also depends on if this price is going to profit for Microsoft, or going to give Microsoft a loss until a year or two later. But like people have said, it is probably fake. Speedy may also be right about Microsoft listening to gaming companies and trying to put in more powerful hardware. I expect the 720 to launch at around $349.99 or higher especially if it is packing the latest in gaming graphics.
The royalty fees like around £10. Microsoft isn't cheap like Nintendo who offer £100 worth of hardware for £300. They are prepared to make a loss on the console and rely on game sales to make a profit.

And bluray drives are cheap now.

Those who think the 720 will have practically the same graphics as the 360 (I.E Wii U graphics) might be seriously deluding themselves on every level in some kind of desperate attempt to hold onto the hope that Wii U will be competitive and share the same multiplatform engines as 720 and PS4.

Looking at the rumored specs, it seems like the CPU doesn't get much of an upgrade. They are AMD 2GHz cores which is not that fast today (I recall reading years ago that a 360 core is comparable to a 1.5GHz AMD core in performance). There are 6-8 cores to raise the theoretical performance, but making multithreaded games is still hard to do in this age, very few games are good at using more than 2 cores, even if there are exceptions depending on the game.

Anyway, I guess they went this route not to gain performance power, but to gain power efficiency to make a cool console. Otherwise they could just have stayed with the PowerPC archiecture and clock it higher.

As for the GPU, I'm not quite sure what to make out of it, but it seems to me it's comparable to a Radeon 7770, which is quite nice. And a nice streamlined API should make it noticeable faster than the PC counterpart which is slowed down by a bloated API and flexible driver system. Still, I don't think it run a scene in 1080p that much faster compared to the same scene in 720p on a 360. So the level of graphical effects will maybe not increase that much, but the 720 should still look quite a bit better because of the higher resolution and the larger textures thanks to the more RAM.

There were two surprises in the document for me, that they added extra hardware just to get 360 BC, which I think is very nice. And that the system power is supposingly only 120W, while the launch 360 model consumed about 200W or so. Because of this, RROD and various overheating issues should be a lot less common, which is nice too.

Signatures sucks, especially signature images. Which is why I have them off, so I never see the blasted things.
