It's especially bad news for all the single player games we've played. Talk about futility.

(unless you weren't talking about PSU, and meant, everything in life. In which case, we will have to open up a new existentialism versus nihilism forum)

I think it's been my signature here for like 2 or 3 years now. Not like I changed it for the occasion, though it does fit! Also, it's just a quote from a silly webcomic.

And I think you just discovered the future of highscore/leaderboards with that obelisk idea, there.

ALSO: ARKIVE. NEW LOOK; SAME DELIGHTFUL, REFRESHING TASTE.

No -- I get drunk to forget about the forums. Getting drunk and posting here would defeat the whole purpose.

This is just me enjoying the chance to share some of memories of Phantasy Star's past with you all. You typically see me here in official / formal / disciplinary mode. I'm actually this weird in real life.

Fair enough! I did figure someone who would name themselves after the Tolkien creator god would have a sense of the relative futility of our accomplishments, anyway.

The high score thing does make me think of the Seinfeld where George tries desperately to save the Frogger machine with his old top score on it. Between that and the Simpsons clip, yes, hello, I am from the 90s.

The best episode of the Simpsons is the Monorail episode or the one where Homer eats the insanity pepper (oh no! a ghost train! and so little time to get out of the way!). Although James Earl Jones reading the Raven is hard to beat.

And of course I love you all!

(in all seriousness I recognize that sometimes butting heads or pretending to be a mall cop is part of the job; getting to promote and discuss games I love with people who care about them is a great job, and one I'd never trade)

My only regret is never being able to see the Beast-themed banner that Home Dog made actually posted on the main site. Such a tragedy.
