I don't think Capcom was thinking about western audiences with the remaster of this game, its going to be a retail game in Japan, and here in the west it's nothing but a PSN game. I think Capcom was just trying to make their fans happy for once by releasing this in the west, after all the negative press they've been getting. I doubt a 360 release was even glanced at, considering the state of the 360 in Japan.

But that's why I'm such a huge supporter of Digital, if PSN or such a service didn't exist, we wouldn't be getting this game right now, it would be too big of a risk to release in a FPS dominated retail market.

Me thinks I'll pass. Unless they add something new to the gameplay.

Irrelevant. PS2 titles are made to run on systems that support PS2 emulations. As far as I know, I don't recall the 360 being able to run PS2 games.

Some ports are on there, but they're PC ports - NOT PS2 ports. I have no idea how much this remaster strays from the PS2 game so we don't know exactly why it isn't being ported.

This isn't an emulation, it's a HD remaster. Sort of like the Silent Hill games that were just remastered for the PS3 and the 360...none of which were on the regular Xbox, all of which were on the PS2.

The architecture of the PS3 is entirely different from the PS2; so much so that it doesn't even play PS2 games. I doubt it was less work to port it to the PS3 than it would have been for the 360.

So then how did they manage to "emulate" a PS2 game on the Wii?

    This is awesome news!

Now Capcom only need to release the old classic Mega Man games on PSN too
Signatures sucks, especially signature images. Which is why I have them off, so I never see the blasted things.

People are saying that Capcom deliberately clouded the footage of the PS2 version in this trailer to make the PS3 version look better. While I won't start yelling at Capcom over it, I have to say....I don't remember the PS2 version looking quite as blurry as this trailer's making it out to be.
