“I like this energy, so it’s ok with me," he said. "If I had to choose money or energy, I would choose energy.” Nishigaki was never one to dwell on sales figures and once commented, “If one person likes Illbleed, then to me, it’s a success.”

Glad to see them returning to a horror atmosphere, at least, though the Waypoint system pretty much ensures that this is just another linear action game, though in a darker setting.

I wish the series would stop with these convoluted plotlines, too...RE4 was meant to be a total reboot and start things fresh, why are we going back to all this again?

This game is looking mighty impressive, I am especially loving the suspense that was going on in these two videos. Will definitely be keeping an eye for more videos on this Resident Evil. So far the game looks promising from what I saw.

I think Resident Evil 4, at least from a story perspective took a break from the main series story, but was never meant to end it. Wesker and Aida were still major players in Resident Evil 4, but did so from the sidelines and their actions pretty much manipulated everything that happened in that game. Resident Evil 5 seemed like a good game to end the old story with the death of Spencer and Wesker, but I guess with the popularity of books like World War Z, Capcom must have felt the need to add a global zombie apocalypse as perhaps a finale to the whole Spencer Wesker story. Or maybe it's a bridge between the old story and a whole new story. Who knows

I would love to see a Resident Evil story go back to basics and have more feelings of being trapped and isolated as well as playing as a protagonist who is not well trained in combat and/or someone who doesn't know what they're getting into. But, the way the story for the series turned out has been the result of taking something that was inspired by a b-horror movie concept (a bio lab located below a mansion is a little goofy) and tried to turn it into something serious.

As far as gameplay is concerned, it looks like it borrows a lot from Resident Evil 4, which isn't a bad thing, but also doesn't look like there's too much that's moving the series forward either.

I'm actually quite excited for this. I'm curious to see how these new controls play into effect.

Yeah I really thought RE5 would have been a fitting end (story-wise) to all that came before. It was, and yet they keep piling on and piling on. It's gotten far too big and "grand" and it's becoming more and more ridiculous.
