I'm assuming that the Outrun flag man will be the generic flagman that appears on stages without a specific flagman, while other characters like Reala, Meemee, and Tab will be flagmans on their respective stages.

I'm gonna take a guess here and say every track has different themed flag people. For example , the Monkey Ball stage will have Monkeys (maybe in tiki masks) waving the flag , then Panzer Dragoon has a little Dragon waver , Golden Axe maybe could have a Chicken Leg wave the flag or something , etc.

Too bad. Fans of other SEGA franchises would kill to see other characters from their favorite series playable but they have to settle for just one, and for some people, not even one. Sonic gets like 8 reps, most of which are the major characters. If someone really decides to get upset because a character that plays a minor role, like Jet, Silver, or Cream, isn't in then that's too bad for them. I know I may sound like a jerk here, but seriously.

But that's pretty much the truth, I may not get any of my favorite characters in the game, while Sonic fans have pretty much half of the whole roster to choose a character from, and to top it all they want more. What gives?

Exactly! I have serious doubts that Phantom R is gonna be in this, and he's slowly becoming one of my favorite SEGA characters. It saddens me that Phantom R and Rhythm Thief has gotten barely any love, especially since mostly everyone who's played it likes it a lot. Other than that, I doubt Arle or Amitie are gonna be in it and one of my other favorites, Opa-Opa, has a good chance of being cut. There's more important characters out there than Jet or Silver or pretty much any Sonic character that isn't confirmed (hell I'd even argue that Amy and Shadow have no right to be in this, but I'll just stop now)

But anyways....I like your idea with Octopaw being the flagman. Maybe Octopaw could be the flagman and Reala could be a hazard that flies around the track and causes some mayhem? Seeing as the Jet Set Radio track will feature rudies and cops running around the track, possibly as hazards, I don't think it would be too farfetched to assume that Reala or another enemy from NiGHTS could be a hazard.

No offense but you set yourself up for that one. Rhythm Thief is just coming out. Would it be an amazing idea to promote the new franchise with an inclusion in the game? Absolutely. But realistically speaking , his first game hasn't even come out here yet. So until then ...yeah.

Opa-Opa has an incredible high chance of coming back. First off his transformations would be easy as pie , second off he still fits the overall atmosphere of this game. Hell even more so then last time , and it's another dope 80's franchise. Also just for laughs , did ANYONE see his inclusion at all? Heck no. Still gives the character a lot of value.

Well I understand that Rhythm Thief isn't out yet in the US, but its been out for a while in Europe and Japan...And come on, Phantom R would fit perfectly with this game. He's a great representative of modern SEGA since he comes from a recent title that is unique and really captures the unique SEGA vibe that I get from classic games like Jet Set Radio and Space Channel 5. His game has been praised critically so far and has tons of style. Rhythm Thief is like the game that SEGA fans (especially Space Channel 5 and Samba de Amigo fans) have been waiting for and its a bit heart breaking to see it get so little interest from both the SEGA fanbase and the 3DS fanbase....

As for Opa-Opa, I'm just plain unsure. Sure he could transform by say, having a engine appear when he goes into the water, wheels on land, and his wings in the air, but I'm still not really sure if that's what the developers are going for with the whole transforming aspect...I just have this feeling he's getting cut.
