I actually have to agree with this. Specifically Ohtani's Act 2 themes (Tropical Resort, Starlight Carnival, Aquarium Park). They all sound the same, like he for some reason felt the need to spam the same obnoxious dance beat throughout the entire game. I'd rather have dying ducks or whatever than UNCE UNCE all day long. Thankfully they saved them for the missions in the DS version. I didn't really find his Act 1 remix of Rooftop Run in Generations very appealing, either - a shame considering he's the one behind the original theme.

Sometimes I wonder what the soundtrack would be like if they had allowed Mariko Nanba or Fumie Kumatani to compose more tracks outside of the map screens and awful cutscene music (which is completely out of Kumatani's style btw). The map music seems to have the most atmosphere, anyway. Shame you only hear it for two seconds.

Gotta disagree with you there, OP. However, I still consider Heroes superior in the field of 3D Sonic game soundtracks.

Sorry, another disagreement here. Sonic Colors has a few flaws, but it's soundtrack is definitely not one of them.

It really sucked. I felt like it was an endless loop.

I though Colors' soundtrack was one of the weakest in the series. There's nothing particularly memorable about it.

Yeah, can't see how people liked them, I thought all of it but asteroid coaster and Terminal Velocity were just not good for the mood of a sonic game, even the classics were much better, but that's all me. Also I noticed another user said about different instruments, something else Tetrisphere got down to, but I think that's the main thing that made this game sound so much better, and it was just a puzzle game:

Anyway, it's all down to a matter of opinion I suppose, but even through all the other things I don't like, at least having something other then what was originally used, it could at least sound good, I mean, I just went on youtube to go through some of them and I stopped after 3, just not the kind of stuff that fits of the mood of a sonic game, outside of colors. I haven't even played it yet but that theme song totally threw me off, I almost coudln't believe it was the theme song. Anyway, if anyone else see's this post, do you at least have any opinions on the music I'm posting and/or compared to colors? BTW, I wanna also bring up another N64 game:

Asteroid Coaster and Terminal Velocity were the only ones similar to Sonic Adventure series rock music. Maybe that's why you think they're the only ones that suit Sonic games.

The soundtrack to Sonic Colors is amazing. It may not top the soundtrack to Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, but it's one of my favorite soundtracks. I was even surprised when Super Mario Galaxy 2 had won the award for best soundtrack of 2010 over Sonic Colors in Nintendo Power. Even if all the different acts have a similar tune, some are even better than the last. I though Aquarium Park Act 3 was even better than the first act's music despite how similar they are.
I proudly support the ideas of a Mario and Sonic platformer crossover for Wii U and 3DS!

No it didn't. The soundtrack was one of the best parts of the game.
