I always thought if they toned down or removed the combat and medal collecting, most people wouldn't have a problem with the Werehog. Sonic Adventure-style gameplay with stretchy arms would be pretty fun, if you ask me. Granted, I never had a problem with the Werehog to begin with.
But... that was widely accepted to be his fanon nickname (like 'Derpy Hooves') before they gave him the name Orbot. His official name before Colors was "SA-5S" ('sass'), though.
