No. I haven't given up. I will complain until the end of time, even if it is in vain.

Complain till the end, not really what a lot of people do. I tend to see people give up after awhile, but just keep going, eventually you may be heard.

Yep you are. I don't want a new character, SEGA could just reintroduce an old character. Bring back Ray and give him a personality and a backstory. Or mighty, of fang, or bark, or bean.

The closet we'd probably ever get to is Mighty, he seems to be only main character people remember out of that game. Ray would be Second in line, Fang is an iffy with people, and Bark, and Bean, well they're mostly unheard of.

I would think Fang would be more likely to return than Ray honestly. Fang was in triple trouble, sonic the fighters, and in sonic drift 2 I believe. All ray was in was segasonicthehedgehog and the very small cameo in generations. Mighty is probably a bit less likely than fang as all he was in was Segasonicthehedgehog and knuckles chaotix (also the missing poster in city escape plus some artwork of him in gems collection).

Ray could make a return if Sega decide to rip off the flying squirrel suit of New Super Mario Bros U, that already is a rip off of 2D Knuckles + double jump - climb.

Also I haven't given up on other playable characters, I'm still waiting for the "Advance 5" return.

Nope, from my point of view, SEGA's just getting started on re-introducing other characters. I'm judging from Tails being in Sonic CD and Sonic 4 Episode II, and a teensy bit from the Sonic Adventure 2 re-release. It's a small thing considering that they aren't new main 3d games, but it might show the direction of where they are going. People are going to get tired of solo sonica as it's the same plain concept over and over again with normal Sonic and an alternate Sonic. I'm already tired of it, I haven't felt the need to even go out and buy Generations for the time it's been out.

Instead of an alternate Sonic, how about Knuckles? or Tails? or Amy? Anyone else? for once. The addition of Tails in Sonic CD was well welcomed, and that may be an understatement.

As for implementation, be it not forced like in Episode II. The player should be able to choose the character he wants to play as instead of being thrown in with both. Mandatory co-op was the "easy way", as the level design had to be not built around two different characters unique moves but their moves as a whole but that detracted from the overall experience. Let's hope they don't repeat the mistake for Knuckles in Episode III, the idea means nothing if it isn't implemented well at all.

On topic of how many characters. Personally I don't mind but I suppose it would be good to not overdo it so we don't end up with another 06, perhaps keep it to 3 or 4? Again, I don't really mind but it'd be nice to get out of this Solo Sonica burrow the series has been trapped in for so long.

I totally agree with your points there. I also feel with the recent 3D Sonic games that Sega should have a good handle on Sonic's gameplay by now and thus can be more confident about using Sonic's base gameplay for some other characters in future titles. I feel Sola Sonica is coming to an end.
