Default Final Fantasy VII returns to PC

    http://www.siliconera.com/2012/07/04...st-hp-feature/

This version of Final Fantasy VII has a few modern features like achievements, 36 of them for hardcore fans to collect. Casual players can use the character builder feature to instantly increase your HP, MP, and Gil to the maximum. Final Fantasy VII also supports cloud saves so you can resume your game from any Internet connected PC.

Final Fantasy VII for PC doesn’t have a release date, but Square Enix says it’s coming soon.

I wonder if this will be on Steam. A year ago FFVII and VIII was available for the store but not for the public.

    Stance on 8th gen

It's Steam. Eidos had good success with their Steam native Deus Ex HR and they're going to try that again.

Fixed. Eidos is only a developer now.

I find it very suiting the years ago when they came out for PC eidos was the bigger company and published them for Square and now square completely owns eidos and is using eidos to do the port.

    Pandering to casual players?
Re-packaging an old PC game with barely any advancements

You can't do this Square not in 2012

Square-Enix used Steamworks before they bought Eidos with The Last Remnant, while Eidos never started to use Steamworks until Square-Enix bought them and now use it for all their PC releases.

However, that now changed. FF7 is not coming to Steam, but gonna be exclusive to the Square-Enix Store. Which is not good news, cause according to the Square-Enix Store FAQ they have a nasty DRM limited to 3 installs/activations.

Signatures sucks, especially signature images. Which is why I have them off, so I never see the blasted things.

Considering that I've never played FFVII and prefer PC gaming to consoles anyway, this is great news for me.

I think that's the only good thing about this then. It's coming to PC gamers again.
Game can look amazing with mods too.
