Default What is nintendo trying to do?

(IMO) I think their trying to force Sony and Microsoft into an expensive future, while they wait back and collect up all the stragglers who don't get into games. There no way my sister will play 90% of the game on the ps3 xbox unless their like the game she have.

    Just dance 3
    My sim racing
    Sonic colors
    My sim world
    Dead space wii
    (generic party game)

What do yuo think nintendo is trying to do we might get a popular opinion to agree of something.

Bottom line, Nintendo is trying to stay in business as a first party development company that has its mitts solely in the game industry, and not in electronics in general.

Other than that, I dunno, it just looks to me like Nintendo is simply trying to have fun with the products they're delivering, and, as a result, sometimes get stuck in the same general area for some things (NSMB series), and otherwise go in wild directions for others. They treat their development process, and they seem to be in the mentality similar to the like of toy makers. Which, frankly, I can appreciate.

I stated months ago that in Skipping out the hardware fight with the Wii, Nintendo would have an easier time with the average consumer being able to show a massive power leap compared to the HD twins progression.

Microsoft and Sony basically have to play it safe in terms of retain and development costs as to not hurt developers and also not destroy any profits they might obtain, whereas Nintendo has the leniency to throw out powerful hardware on top of their IP's.

By Skipping out Last Gen, Nintendo now will force Microsoft and Sony to compete on the content of games rather than on the power of hardware.

Well it seems that either Nintendo is having fun with their products like toy makers (Fun fact, apparently Nintendo started out as a toy company making things like this hadfulfa cards (Which I got for 800 points, 800 dollars worth of stuff pretty much) and I think those japanese fans.)

Or Nintendo is trying to force Sony and Microsoft in a position where it gets too expensive for them to go on.

I don't really think they have a strategy. I think they screwed up last gen with the Wii. Sure the console sold millions worldwide, but no one plays the Wii anymore. I don't know how many people own a Wii, but don't play it or hardly ever did after they purchased it. I think Nintendo believes that the Wii name brand is still strong around the world, but i don't think that's the case anymore. I think that name has been forgotten by casuals and i don't see the Wii U really taking off amongst that group. I honestly believe they're going to struggle next gen, the only hope they had of succeeding was to attract hardcore gamers, by showing off impressive games at E3, and they failed to do that. MS and Sony will probably release true next gen consoles and Nintendo will be left to compete for 3rd party support, but won't get any from developers. Sure they'll get a few titles like they have with the Wii, but not enough to convert gamers to buy their new console, when they could get a better and more fulfilling gaming experience on a new Sony or MS platform. I have a feeling the Wii U is going to have a difficult time, like the Wii has over the past few years.

Really a paragraph? NOW I HAVE TO READ! Um but what about the popularity the 3Ds got? If that good then what do you think will happen with the wii?

Speculation: Old grandparents won't know what to buy for their grand kids and accidentally buy the wiiu. Much love go to them and the word get spreed like wild fire. Nintedo become dissapointed with sale even though they sold 4 million in a week.

Wow, if that isn't laziness I don't know what is. God forbid you have to read something in your life.

Anyways, Nintendo didn't screw up with the Wii. It did well and if no one wants to make games for it now, it's their fault, not Nintendo's. Nintendo released the best it had and was worth it.

Their strategy is to stick to games and only games. It's what separates them from the rest, and that's what makes them better.

Miyamoto: We must prepare for tomorrow night.

Reggie: Why? What are we going to do tomorrow night?

Miyamoto: The same thing we do every night, Reggie - try to take over the world!

Isnt it obvious? Trying to make lightning strike twice in the same exact place. Only problem is things have changed since 2006.

Not like we haven't seen the same old stuff from Sony and Microsoft too, but fanboy goggles work in mysterious ways, so that's probably news to you.
