Default I've been practicing the gyro minigames

Not perfect scores/grade, but rather how to pass them without much frustration. =P Also to note I left off right after completing R31.

There's a way to hold the 3DS to make the controls easy to manage. Simply hold the 3DS upright as opposed to laying flat like you are tilting for a marble game. It will look like you are holding a steering wheel.

R5: The one where Fondue eats a lot.
Holding it the way I told you, I noticed steering left and right I can tell at what angle I need to register a side. The trick to this minigame is that I can hold my position waiting for the food to reach fondue...

    R13: Samba de Amigo minigame.
I love this one. Don't bother tilting I noticed that simply moving the 3DS like to mimic the actions shown on screen it will register! To do the raising, just move the 3DS above your head. I don't know if this is practical for the harder versions of the minigame but it worked for this first one.

    R16: The punchout style fight.
Hold it like I told you, tilting left and right I don't have much trouble. You do have to be precisely in time with his punching, so it can be tricky. Watch the guide for his forward slam. Instead of tilting I noticed lowering the 3DS in timing registers. This is how I managed to dodge this attack.

    R31:

First off, screw this minigame. This is probably the worse one in this game. Thankfully not all the minigames are this frustrating.
My first attempt I thought you had to line up the target cursor with the enemies but they pass by too fast. The way the minigame is set-up, it confuses you into playing like a rail shooter.
Once again, hold like I told you. I the neutral position seems to target the upper enemies okay. The lower enemies I just need a small tilt away from me. Left and right behaves. The trick to the minigame is that as long as you are on the side you aim at, You will just auto-target anyway. It was just a matter of timing my A presses.

I haven't gotten to minigames after R31, I completed it like an accomplishment and quit for the day.

This thread I think will be updated as I play the game.

Thanks for offering tips on the gyro games! I know these are probably the ones people find most challenging, myself included.

Thank you so much for the advice on R31. You really helped me out! It was the last mini-game I needed to A rank (and then crown), and I was able to do both once I realized I wasn't supposed to be aiming at the enemies, but tilt it in their direction instead, then watch the circle for when to shoot.

Once I got the hang of it, I thought it was pretty fun. That's the thing with all of these mini-games, if you don't understand what the game wants you to do, you begin to hate it with a passion, especially if you've tried it multiple times with no success. R31 made no sense to me at all until I read this topic. The other ones that use gyro are a little wonky until you realize how to move the system...the steering wheel advice is definitely the way to go imo.

I'm actually trying to get an "A" grade on R31, and when you get the hang of things, it is actually very funny to replay. I did also enjoy
even though it takes a while to know what to do.

The gyro games, while not perfect, are actually decent and fun, if you discover how they work (similar to Samba de Amigo on Wii).

I liked R31. It was fun.

    R46 can go die, though.

R31's grown on me now that I know what to do on it~ as for the punchout ones, once you figure out you have to tilt before he attacks (makes sense, why would you dodge someone at the same time he punches you?) they're really fun

Same here. I was harsh when I wrote this topic as it was the minigame I left off on. I have little trouble now.

    I await for R46. Right now I'm at R39

*As I continue to bump these threads...*

I never tried holding my 3DS like a steering wheel, but I did find it easier to lightly hold it and tip it (marble-game like) as opposed to holding it flat and rotating it (except in R05, with the big meat. You must rotate on the big meats.)

Now I want to try the steering wheel method on R46...took me over half an hour to get an A on that game...I still hate it.
