Default Mortal Kombat 1-3 is hard even on easy?

I was playing MK1 and I got to about round 4 with it all being rather easy then out of nowhere the person I was fighting got switched to turbo super hard and pwned me. I was like .-.

Okay maybe it was just that one

I play MK2 the exact same thing happens. Jade turns into Ninja Assassin Turbo Mega Combo Queen and beats the holy living daylights out of me. When it was set on EASY!

    ... I might kick myself , but I try 3.

    AGAIN it happens! WHAT!?

It's not even that I'm bad at the games it just turns SUPER HARD out of nowhere! Anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

Yes, Mortal Kombat is difficult in several of the games of the series. Even though the games have slightly toned down on difficulty in recent years like Mortal Kombat 2011, several parts are still difficult, mostly Shao Kahn. There are also characters whose moves are difficult to avoid, particularly those of characters such as Sheeva and Quan Chi, who both jump up into the air and land on the opponent.

But don't even get me started with Shao Kahn. I understand he's the final boss, but could they at least not make the game overpowered? I really can't complain though, since this series is my favorite guilty pleassure. But the recent game and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 are the only ones I've completely played through. The storyline of Mortal Kombat 2011 left a bad feeling and some unanswered questions that do not make sense.

It seems as if Midway had brainwashed us back in the arcade games to think such games were excellent, while in actuality, we were getting scammed by overpowered computer players and a final boss with a hell of an attitude, though I can't deny I love his taunting.

    It's official! You suck!
Warner Bros. is handling the series better than I had expected though. Arguably the best company acquisition besides Disney and Marvel.

By the way, if you have the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection on Xbox 360, I'm happy to play a few online rounds whenever, since the arcade mode is super hard.

Gets annoying real fast doesn't it? It's the reason I avoid playing the games up to MK4.

MK isn't hard it's just that the AI can be incredibly cheap towards the last few matches.

    Nothing compared to SNK's fighters.

I know it's a bit off-topic, but I just recently came across my favorite moment in the series. I found it in Mortal Kombat 2011. SPOILER ALERT!

True, though once you figure out which actions make the AI react in a specific way, you can beat them with relatively ease. (at least in MKI, where the best strategy was using flying kicks, or in MKII where the key lies in making the AI jump towards you so you can receive them with a roundhouse kick, though you might be surprised at how easy Shao Kahn really is when all you have to do is block his shoulder attack and uppercut him)

If you go online and look at the making of Mortal Kombat 3, they said that when they made the original Mortal Kombat they did want to make money on it, but they also did not want to make it a game someone got frustrated with, played only a couple of times not to play it ever again. Make a game too hard, and not balanced and your SOL.

I did get the Mortal Kombat Arcade Collection from Steam and those are some pretty good ports of those original arcade games. Although the computers in Ultimate MK3 do get a bit desperate at times.
