    but seeing it again now I guess it's not as big as issue as the boost graphic, and the horrible gameplay during quickstep sequences. And to a slightly lesser extent, the behind-Sonic perspective. (which makes Sonic's animation seem really dull) At least Sonic's hands should be bigger.

    In Sonic The Hedgehog (2006) and SA1, Sonic's arms were spread out more, making Sonic look more dynamic. In Modern Sonic games, Sonic's arms just limp behind.

    Also I just realized another major problem with Modern Sonic. I just mentioned the boost graphic, but this wouldn't even be a problem if the games didn't have Sonic boosting 99 percent of the time.



    Sonic looked cool 7 times in a row. What happened??

    (Well, Heroes Sonic wasn't cool.. but he sure looks cool now, compared to Modern Sonic. Especially in the many CG cutscenes Sonic Heroes, where Sonic practically popped out of the screen.)

    The Unleashed model looks 10x better than anything before it. Animations are smoother such as his quills don't move like propellers(Sonic Riders) and none of Sonic's body parts are ill regularly larger than the other.


    That being said, I no longer take anything you say seriously.
    I LIKE THE FINAL FANTASY 13 saga.

    Because regular HD just isn't good enough.

    That's a scripted part of the game where the stage intentionally slows Sonic down (it's a dramatization for the incoming enemies) regardless of whether he's boosting or not. Sadly that entire quick step section on both bridges all the way to the spring has a speed cap that forces Sonic to move slower than he normally runs if he were boosting elsewhere in 3D. There are ways to bypass the speed cap on the 2nd bridge (where you pointed out on your vid) granted it's slow so you can react to the silly floor traps ahead. Most quickstep sections are speed capped and the caps on the first bridge cannot be bypassed.

    Personally, I prefer Unleashed's expression of Sonic's physical (Generations was okay - I like seeing him perform tricks and end with the Adventure 1 cover pose.) As for the direction of his arms, it makes sense in Unleashed/Generations because it's more aerodynamically efficient. However, I do think the run pose you prefer was executed perfectly in Advance 2/3. Made more sense than the Advance 1 run animation imo.

    Now that I think about it... don't see why they couldn't use both (the Adventure/06 one could be him running without boosting).
