Why do everybody think Sony will lose the Next gen war?

I think it's alot of bull going around of news lately. Game makers that like xbox or ps2 is sticking with the same company next -gen systems. DOA makers said ps3 is very hard to make games for, but you got EA and Epic saying it's very easy to make games on ps3. Then you got the makers of Half Life saying it's hard to make games for both but xbox360 is harder? Is it just me? What you guys think? Ok. Back to the topic. Why you think sony will lose or win the next gen war?

Tecmo already has announced (exclusive) games for PS3 so don't count them out yet.

Honestly, as much as I am a Playstation gamer (my PS2 hasn't been turned off for weeks) I believe no company (should) stay on top forever. It's pretty much like a president, you need a switch so that things can be improved for the good of the industry. Different ideas = good. Yes, Sony has done great things to the industry and if you deny it you are either stupid or biased.

However, as we have seen in the industry a gen of disappointment leads to a gen of failure. So for Sony to fail, they need to screw up on the next to fail the one after. However, should Sony lose it's throne sometime soon, I hope another great JP eletronics company resumes Sony's work in the gaming industry.

Oh and PS3 pwns all btw.

I have no doubt the PS3 will be an amazing success like its previous incarnations.

No matter how you slice it, it can't do *that* bad as to be considered a "Failure"(unless you have unreasonibly high expectations).

Though in all honesty I don't think they're enjoy the market dominance they've had this generation, I'm expecting Microsoft and yes, Even Nintendo, will gain significant market share this generation.

I've never heard that Sony will lose the next gen war. Its mostly just a givin to most people that Sony will capture like 55% of the market anyway.

I don't think they going to lose. I don't think the ps3 will be more then $399 price point. I just don't think they that dumb. I just wish we have a great next gen of systems. I can only afford one so I choose the ps3 cause most of the games I like going to that system. I think from what the game lineup for sony system. What they showed so far. They backing the ps3 more right now. I'm shock from all the big name games that it already have that only on the ps3.

I really dont think that Sony would come close to losing just because of the current fanbase. People like to upgrade and keep their current games.
BAckwards compatibilty wasent as big of an issue last gen because a ton of people had moved on. Only a few of us die hard playstation fans kept of ps and all the games. But this gen with the TONS of great titles that came out will keep people playing their older games.

Realistically too, console games arent nearly as exclusive as they were a few years ago. Its not like the early days of gaming that what system really decided what games you were gonna play. 95% of games will come out for all three, well at least 2. I dont see MS having near enough exclusives to take a big chunk of Sony. I totally see a Sony 55% MS30% fanbase happening. So gamers can be a ton more happy with a single console.

1 - Tecmo announced exclusive games, not Team Ninja
2 - You talk about people being stupid or biased, yet your already saying Ps3 owns and theres lots of details that arent even final, plus the fact that they barely have any playable games and you havent played any of them.

Please share with us the great things sony has done for this industry, preferrably what they did this generation.

On topic, i dont think Sony will lose next generation, but no1 is blind enough to see that MS is definetly a threat to sony. Even Sony said themselves. Last generation and the gen b4 that, Sony didnt have any real competition. They blew by Nintendo with ease and Sega slit their own wrists as far as competing goes. Alot of what Sony is doing with Ps3 is questionable, and because of whatelse is happening in the industry, people feel they wont be #1 for long. Just like biggest sony fan tristan just said.

I do agree no1 should be #1 forever, whether it be Nintendo, Microsoft, or Sony. Companies fighting for #1 just means them trying harder to give gamers better games and sometimes for a better price.

If Sony didn't have any competition with the n64 or dreamcast, then Sony CERTAINLY didn't have any competition with the xbox.

What is Sony doing that is questionable? Superior technology, devil may cry 4, grand theft auto 4, killzone 2, final fantasy, metal gear solid 4. Banking on superior hardware and popular sequels is actually quite smart.

What else is going on in the industry? Could it be that the 360 is nothing more than a pc game player, extra money down the tube?

People feel like they won't be number 1 is practically the only thing I agree with you on. However, people on forums and people in general are different, if they see their favorite sequels on the ps3 and then only see M$ on the 360?

Sure 360 will probably come bundled with hype, but pc gamers are already laughing at the waste of money. Nintendo and Sony fans will be sure to extinguish 360's progress when their system launches.

But then again, it is all speculation isn't it, all posts like this are quite stupid since in fact nothing has happened. A person can say the 360 will be the best system ever, but in reality, it is more plausible to assume that the 360 will go down as the biggest failure in M$ history. However, either road could be right.

No, ps3 will not fail, it will succeed with flying colors (or will it). Next subject.
