Hmm, I think I might sticky this. After all, we have such a post for Sonic Riders and Sonic Rush.

I just ran through Sonic 2 really fast with Sonic alone(no chaos emeralds). I messed up in a few places, but at least it's something to start on:

No, cheat codes will not be allowed under any circumstances, with the single exception of doing one level. You may not start midgame for a total score/time, and you must earn the emeralds.
