Why was PSO overrun by hackers????

most of the stuff i saw on the gc was cheat devices or abuses to special glitches someone spent hours to figure out. however dupeing meseta in pso was worthless since it could only be used to buy from the shop and have weapons identified. i don't know about psobb. i heard about alot of hacking in psoxbox. and ive heard of hacking in psu360 but not near the same level.
there have been alot of hacks on the psu ps2/pc but thats because of the pc version. heard they didn't ip ban anyone but lcoked accounts and the hackers just purchased new ones. (more money for sega).

so i don't know why this topic is asking this question when the reasons are:
1. they know how to do it and want to see how far they can go with it.
2. there bored.
3. they do it to cause missery and get a laugh.
4. they don't want to do any work so they hack to the top and then find out.
that since they hacked to the top theres nothing to do now and cause trouble.
5. they have various reasons that give them no right to take it out on others.

That's all it is, some person who picks on others to make themselves feel better due to their own problems.

No offense but I can almost assure you that only applies to a maybe one or two of the "hackers" on PSO. Goldbrease's first reason is pretty much the most accurate, followed closely by number 3.

i will not say much on this topic but.. i will quite 2 very old lines from a friend & former poster to these boards.

I myself dont care if ppl hack or not. not much u can do ethr way. long as it dos not harm ur personal play style then dont hate or care. Just knwo that most hackers do it out of bordom, or to "own" other players (dumb reson) or just so they can say they hacked it first.

Dreamcast, yes - hacks were all over the place. That was also six years ago. Since then, things have improved greatly. I can give examples if you'd like, but it should suffice to say that Sega has definitely learned from the mistakes on past PSO versions, and things have been getting better ever since.[/quote] i dont think they hv i knew a lot of ppl that did hack on the pso GC. And ppl one psu did do some stuff too thats why money is really easy to get in psu now sega nv really care imo.PSO the US server always imo got forgoten but the JP looked like they had it all good. remeber this is just imo but i dont think they care about it. the game died and then they put new quest out and new things to do. i hv over 3k hrs on that game and at the start of the game pso had quest u could download but after awhile it was like they just didnt care about it and nv had quest where u could download. and they nv had GM's in the game to watch for hacker. my point is they just nv care about the game. and they even had a way u could dupe in the game with the shop lady. I mean comon they could hv patch that or somthing. and dont forget u could equip about 30 def weps all at once to did they fix that nope. and they had that 2nd save that a lot of ppl and myself hv lost chars to yeah for fsod on a save.
