Sonic's BEST moments...

I'm new here, I realized I never even introduced myself- I'm Michelle, I hail from Canada and I've been a Sonic fan basically since he stepped onto the NA scene. Seeing this was the first post I came up with, I figured I might as well find out a few things that I think are important as a fan.
Everyone has their ups and downs with Sonic, we all don't see eye to on on it, but we all individually go back for our own reasons & memories.
What are Sonic's best moments through your eyes? I have plenty of my own in my humble opinion, but I'd like to know yours as well.
This may or may not have been asked before, no matter!
Seeing A) There are now more games/comics to talk about, and B) I wasn't here, & don't know these things! :P
But what are your absolute favorite Sonic moments? From the games, from the cartoons, from the comics, BOOKS- what have you. I always wonder what fans take to the most- btw, this isn't a favorite and LEAST favorites thread- if you'd like to start your own thread about what you didn't like, you know you're quite free to- but please don't spam my own.
I'm rather warbly and I'm not a fan of hating.

For me, there's tons! I'll start with a few:

-Starting up SA2B for the first time, hearing City Escape. It got me really excited about the game, big time. Jun really knows how to match the music with the mood! ^_^

-Big the cat socking Eggman in the Sonic X comic. :lol: That was a lark!

-Sonic's homecoming in the Sonic X cartoon- you know the one! Returning to Mobius. It's pretty famous, but it was a very touching episode all around. Thought it was really well done. I'll admit, I needed a couple tissues. Good times!

-Learning to draw Sonic & Tails as a kid! (Back when it was JUST Sonic and Tails... I remember when Knuckles came in & I thought he was a challenge to draw :lol: ) As even a little artist, I was thrilled when one day I drew them, and lo and behold- they looked like the actual characters! Was quite proud of myself. Believe it or not, I first did it in chalk on my friends driveway. But I got better at it on pencil & paper.

-ANY Rouge and Knux. The two of them interacting is just too funny, they're both so proud and gutsy.

-Remember that ending video in Sonic CD? (You might remember it better in Sonic Mega Collection now as well, on Gamecube as a little bonus ) Sonic saving Amy, and how he backs off and she peeks up. Cute moment, I remember thinking she was the cutest thing in her tutu & chucks as a kid. ^_^ Man, I remember thinking that game was SOOOO hard to beat at the time, metal sonic!

-Silver, and how he wouldn't beat up Amy to get at Sonic. What a GENT! Wouldn't be Shadow, I'm tellin' ya. :lol:

-EVERY time Sonic has to fight Knuckles to get something out of him. :lol: Knuckles is so awesomely stubborn, Sonic is so snappy. They crack me up.

-Sonic telling Shadow he should get a girlfriend in the STH comic!

-Sonic Underground. I LIVED for that cartoon! I thought Manik was so boss.

-Who could forget the original cartoon? Of all the characters, I really took to Bunnie, and I still love that gal. And... Ixy was pretty freakin' hilarious looking in that show. :lol: I always thought he was funny. But Robotnik...he scared the hell outta me!

-When I discovered Amy as a lead of a team in Sonic Heroes. I was SOO happy! One of the best. That's one of the many reasons why Sonic Heroes is (one of) my favorite Sonic games- along with CHAOTIX comeback! Double zinger.

-Cream getting rid of Emerl in SonicX. WOW, Cream. She really kicked hard tail! I think that girl is heading somewhere big, but that was a defining moment for her character.

-Amy & Sonic in the Valentines Day date comic. :lol: Good God, I've not laughed that hard at a comic for ages!

-Rouge the Bat getting included in games. I have mad love for Rouge, I think she's a little something that was needed. Knuckles needed SOMEone to dent that hard-up 'tude every now and again.

-Cute couples get in free. :lol: Poor Sonic!

-GETTING SUPER SONIC in the old games. Ace, man! YOU KNOW what I'm talking about!

-Sonic, Shads and Silv charging up into super form in SNG. Hands down, that was SUPREMELY COOL.

-Shadow 'cleaning Sonic's yard' for him on his birthday in the STH comic. :P

-Me and some buds were playing SA2B, and my friend Steve got to the Biolizard attached to Ark (which was promptly met with echoes of "is Ark up it's butt?" :lol: ) we were all freaking our beaks! We hadn't gotten that far as of the time.
So... there was him being drunk trying to beat it, and we're all rocking out to Live and Learn blasting- I was barking "You better not kill Sonic!!!"
He had ONE more hit and he was done for, seconds left, but he pulled through. I'll never forget how intense that was! :lol: The first time I saw the 'end' of that game! I was sad I didn't do it myself, but I probably would have had a stroke doing it myself for the first time. :lol: I'm such a tense gamer!

-Silv's ending. ^_^ It was truthfully my favorite, and although it was like a punch in the gut because it made me sad- that's why I liked it the most. It had quite the effect! Go Silv

-Anyone read the new STH comic? (I'd be safe to assume!) in case they haven't, Sonic's witticisms in that one had me laughing out loud big time.
I like the way they write him.

-SONIC AND MARIO. Teaming up in a game. I just about learned gymnastics over that. :lol: I've wanted that for so long, and I grew up thinking that was crazier than McD's & Burger King dating. :P

-Silv getting included in Battle and in Rivals, and other games from there on in! I was SO scared they were gonna nix him after SNG! Thanks heaps for that one, Sonic Team. :lol: I'd be lost without Silv!

-Finally, playing Sonic for the first time. WHOA! I thought the Sega system was SO cool, all sleek and black- we used to feel so fancy playing it as kids. :lol: I still like the feel of those controllers, perhaps the best!
They were a bit more welcoming than intimidating- I admit, I was a teensy bit scared of brand new 3D gaming for a while, and had to get used to those tiny, strange joysticks! But revving Sonic up for a spindash for the first time? Come on, who forgets that?

My favorite was getting to ice cap zone for the first time, and snowboarding with sonic.

Doomsday zone for first time. When you think the game is finished and you are about to release the pad... "fiiiiuuuuuu" and a new and original level is just in front of you. That was really epic.

My favorite moment was when Sonic fought and defeat Ultimate Emerl/Gizoid in Sonic Battle. It shows that Sonic can still kick some tail without those Chaos Emeralds even when the bad guy has them.

I'd say Death Egg Zone in Sonic3 for me. The gravity manipulation and level design was one of the best final levels I've ever played in a Sonic game. The bosses where the best to me, too.

Doomsday zone wasn't as great as Death Zone but still a suprise to me.

Welcome to the boards. I always liked the series no matter what and I have plenty of favorite moments.

Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, I loved this cartoon. Just Sonic and Tails going on different adventures to stop Dr. Robotnik Sonic the Hedgehog SatAM was also a favorite of mine.

Sonic 2, first Sonic game I played and my favorite classic. It was fun and it had my two favorite characters Sonic and Tails.

When Sonic met Tails in Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. Poor Tails, he was looking for a place to live, while at the same time drove Sonic crazy. :lol: I also liked how they met on Sonic X when I saw it a few months ago.

Tails Adventure, Tails' own Game Gear game. It was very different and fun. Yes I have it for Game Gear.

Sonic the Hedgehog comics, I don't get to pick them up very often, but I enjoy looking at them when I do pick one up.

Sonic 3D Blast, gosh I remember playing this on Sega Channel. It was fun. I was glad it was included in Sonic Mega Collection.

All of Sonic Adventure, I loved the game and really enjoyed the story. It was a great game.

In Sonic Adventure 2, Knuckles driving the shuttle. 'nuff said.

In Sonic Riders I love to ride my board and doing tricks around the tracks in Time Attack mode.

Sonic Rush's special stage. The half-pipe and collecting rings reminded me of Sonic 2's Special Stage. Also, I loved the rest of the game.

Seeing appearances of new characters I like, like Cream for example.

I do have other favorite Sonic moments, but they don't relate to the series. I'm not going to post them unless it's ok with you Speedy_Cheese, since you mention learning to draw Sonic as a favorite moment.

Hmm, another one I forgot- first being able to play as Knuckles!!
Sonic & Knuckles- THAT blew me away. :lol: I remember one of my friends telling me that and we were so hyped. After Sonic 3 I was always hoping you'd be able to play as Knuckles. Didn't take too long, I must say.

I'm glad to see people pitching in, also funny that we all have different ones! Just goes to show how much you can get out of Sonic games!

BTW Tailsfox: Go right ahead! ^_^ If it's not bashing, I say it all counts.
Drawing Sonic is a huge part of being a fan of him for me, because as art being one of the biggest things in my life, having Sonic included in that has made me appreciate him & the characters a whole lot more.
You have to understand that before I did most things, I gravitated toward art. :P So being able to draw Sonic and all the others- wether it was just funny comics & doodles or long-haul paintings, I was able to get to know the characters through it better. Not to mention with the new look came more advanced art, more detail, which I really appreciated- when I first saw Silver's strange spikes, all I could think was: they'll definitely be something to draw on a whim. You're free to tell whatever tales you like, as long as it's about Sonic of course.

Here's a few more of my Sonic moments.

I also liked drawing Sonic or Tails as a kid. That was one of my favorite things to do. Come to think of it I still draw them occasionally.

When I got some Sonic stuff. I remember coming home from school and my mom bought me a t-shirt with Sonic and Tails on it as a nice surprise.

I also remember when I got a Sonic plush when I was a kid. The Sonic plush was wrapped in a bag, inside another bag, inside another bag, and inside another bag. Very funny moment since I kept taking a bag out of a bag until I got to the last bag revealing a Sonic plush.

They're not related to the series itself, but they are my other favorite Sonic moments.
