Ok, I picked this game up 2 days ago, and am currently a little past firstborn...that being said i have found a few things that are either annoying or just plain wtf. I'm touching on a lot of subjects from the game but i think everyone can agree on most of these or provide some better ideas to correct the problems i am encountering. *please no comments saying "if you played better and didnt lose your beast you wouldnt have these problems" it happens to all of us at some point*
Not really an annoyance, i think its a little odd that you get both spells pretty much in the beginning of the game without much effort to get them.
The book. On page 7 of the US manual it shows a picture displaying the difficulties as EASY, NORMAL, and HARD. WTF. I turn on the game thinking, oh well i will start off with easy and get used to playing with the controls before going to medium, but nope...The difficulties i have to choose from are NORMAL, HARD, and BRUTAL. which to me is medium, hard, and harder. what happened to easy?
The gnomes...idk if theres a method to hitting them but i miss them frequently and most of the time you need more health to continue on.
The health pads...i've seen 2 so far in the game, 1 to introduce it and 1 more since then...wtf. make the gnomes random and the pads more frequent.
The crates and other breakable containers with loot, mana, health etc... i think once they are broken and they should disappear from the screen. This should be done with the gates that need to be broken with a beast, and the traps the beasts can get stuck in. once they have been broken *not use-able anymore* then they should be removed from the screen.
Maybe a radar or map of some sort? I know i lose my bearings while fighting and getting knocked about. Something to tell me which way i have been and where the nearest beast spawn location is.
Also its quite annoying when you have to go back to the beginning of the level to get another beast to smash a gate up ahead. I know that there isnt much to make this convenient, but imagine fighting for a good 20 min, you're almost to the end of the level, you just barely managed to finish off the last of the bad guys in the area but you lost your beast in progress. you continue on and low and behold what do you see? a gate that only a beast can break. so you have to backtrack to the nearest beast spawn location....which is back where you started or close to that area. kind of a pain if you think about it.
Firstborn
i wont spoil anything for people who havent reached this point yet. But I do think its a little messed up that the hint comes up telling me how to defeat it AFTER i use all my magic up. I had to die purposely to get more magic so i can actually do whats required to defeat it.
The Trials Mode
This reminded me of a mode on Devil May Cry...waves of monsters coming at you, each wave has more monsters or a few stronger ones.
I dont have many complaints on this, but i think it should be looked into...
the very first time i played this mode i got to the 6th wave...and was ready to take on more...but the 6th wave never came. wave 5 was 1 large guy, i finished him off and then im waiting for the next wave...nothing happens. Small bug i know, but worth fixing and putting into an update.
Overall what should be included in an update:
Breakables should vanish shortly after being broken. *not the items inside*
Trials mode glitch fixed
A map or radar of some sort with beast spawn locations and health/magic pads highlighted maybe.
*to those who say i am making this game easier by doing this, i think not. I'm not asking for anything but minor fixes that should have been fixed before release of the game.*
As far as the health pads go, its nice that you are showing many different ways to gain health, but actually USE them not just show them few and far between.
