Well, at least this thread has been moved to the correct forum since my last post in here, so I might as well offer my opinion on the thread's topic.
I read Unleashed was originally going to be called Sonic World Adventure or something, so I think that technically makes it SA3.

SNG and Sonic Unleashed were the closest things we got to SA3.

They cant make an adventure 3 cuz they are worried about little kids being confused. They'll be like "the heck is adventure 3!? Where is 1 and 2!?" so yeah....
Really 06 was pretty much adventure 3. It used the same gameplay style but went under a different name. (Heck it even used 3-D molds that were taller just like adventure 2. Compare sonic in 06 to the past sonics, and it looks like a mix of adventure and adventure 2 sonic. He's taller, but his face reminds me of the artwork for the DX release of adventure.)

Sonic 06 was supposed to be SA3, and technically Sonic unleashed was too though the name was World Adventure. It's a little too late to make a SA3, even though it would be ausome.
