Did Michael Jackson help compose the music for Sonic 3? Was all of his music deleted from the game? Would it be possible to re-release the game with his music if he did help?

I saw something about this on the Seganerds forum about a month ago. it was pretty detailed stuff. I couldn't find the thread that had a link to the story about it, which was really good. I had found another piece on it, but it wasn't all that great.
The story basically revolves around MJ wanting to help with composing the music for Sonic 3. And then he did some demo pieces for the game. They were considering letting him do all the music, but he then fell into legal trouble, and then that's when they kinda said no to him. I don't know if that's true or not, but what is true is that some of the folks who ended up doing the music for the game were some of MJ's current and former music staff at the time. One of the music directors at SOJ was supposedly also heavily influenced by the pieces that MJ or his staff had done, and worked that into his music for the game as well. Whether MJ actually did some of those pieces himself, I'm not sure. But he definitely did have a hand in the music that was eventually used. And while his name never showed up int the music credits, the names of the guys from his team did. Someone can probably find some better info on this. I was gonna put up the sonic cult link, but it's already here. Here's something else on the story though. http://info.sonicretro.org/Michael_J...co_discography Sonic 3's music had a different overall feel to it than the other Sonic games from that era. Growing up, it was the only Sonic game music that I could remember liking. |

^ A Mag scan of an "Making of Sonic 3" thing, in an interview with some of the staff, MJ involvement was confirmed.

Yes he was involed with making the music for Sonic 3. He actually made a complete soundtrack for the game. They said it was perfect but at the time Michael was getting charged for child molestation so they didn't use hes music. But the people that had worked with Michael made some of the music for the game. Their names are in the credits. The music in Sonic 3 was awesome.
Resemblence between Michael's music to Sonic 3's music: Carnival Night Zone- Jam Ice Cap Zone- Who is it, Smooth Criminal Knuckles Theme- In the Closet Sonic 3 Credits- Stranger in Moscow Lauch Base Zone Minor Boss Theme
