Default The Alien Franchise

First off, Congrats Sega, surely you know you've made a wise choice by signing on with 21st Century Fox and the ALien Franchise name. Well done.

Secondly, thank you for considering in making Alien games without Predators.

We know that Dan O'Bannon knew what Alien was about, Ridley Scott knew, David Giler and so did James Cameron, the question here is do you know what Alien is all about?

I'll sum it up in a few words, it's all about terrorizing the viewer. It's not about the action as some of the fanboys claim to want, it's not about the guns and the trucks and all that non sense.

What made this franchise successful was the terror it gave us in the first movie and nothing else. We know why Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection as well as AVP sucked, it's very simple, there was none of that claustrophobic terror that the first movie and to a smaller degree, the 2nd movie brought us.

If I want an action game, ill go play Battlefield 1942 or whatever, If you want to succeed stick to what started this franchise.

Stick to obscure industrial ships with air ducts and getting stalked by an intelligent alien.

AVP and AVP2 Single player marine campaigns were amazingly done (For the most part), but can be done WAY better and scarier.

I just hope you understand all this and wish you the best.

hi, i completely understand what your saying, and i actually agree with you about the films.

how ever, those films are horror/sci-fi/action films. and they are ment to scare you.

games are ment to entertain you, and be fun, so i think if people want to be scared, they should watch the films.

to have fun and enjoy the films, it needs to be based on other things i think.

I agree with DM Terraform, except that I still like Alien 3.

This games should be more like Bioshock or Doom on the xbox than some sort of hack and slash/shooter.

Scares, plot, and while I may dread suggesting it, intellegent use of ammo.

Well Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 (The Director's Cut version ONLY) were good for almost always taking place in dark areas, but still somehow letting the viewer be capable of seeing everything going on...they need to make sure that its possible.

I do think Doom 3 is definitely a good example of how the game should be.

Something I think would be interesting is perhaps the player would play as someone, perform some sort of objective and play as the character up to a certain point in which they have a confrontation with a facehugger/chestburster. The new twist would be that depending on if you can survive the encounter, it affects the storyline of the characters you play as later on...sort of like you play one character each "chapter", at the end of which (and a few inbetween) is a showdown with an Alien you need to try to survive. whether you live or die though, the perspective will change to a new character after the battle.
